Something had been on his mind. Nagging constantly and while he tried to ignore it, shove it down, the thought returned like a faithful demon. Every night it troubled him.
Where was Bai? Who were they with? The latter bothered him most. In their ever more requent absences Kydobi could help but suspect the company they kept. His heart raced at the thought, everything tensed in anger. The shapeshifter was his and only his to love. Even if he didn't want to have a relationship, even if he feared he wasn't enough. Surely he was worth keeping? Not someone to be replaced?
He thought of his past. Of his mother. Of his alleged father. Of how he was cast away cause the blood coursing through his veins wasn't the King's at all. Of how he was embarrassed and stripped of his title as Prince. Of the respect he lost from others all cause of the nature of his sire. Of how he was replaced by his mother's new litter.
Of how he was casted out and thrown away. And oh it hurt. But it went away. Yet the insecurities never did. Shadows of the past affected him still. He wanted to be enough. To someone at least. Ramona wanted nothing to do with him. Everyone else was acquaintances. No one knew him as intimately as Lynn. None made the jaguar feel warmth in his heart and all around like Lynn.
His Lynn.
It was the height of the night, a full moon illuminated the sky and all below her on a blueish glow. A lone figure stalked through the jungle quietly. Looking, hunting for the scent of a dragon or jaguar.
Kydobi had caught the scent, having not smelled it in days he would track it.
Eventually he came upon them.
"Bai, where have you been?"
