Something had been on his mind. Nagging constantly and while he tried to ignore it, shove it down, the thought returned like a faithful demon. Every night it troubled him.


Where was Bai? Who were they with? The latter bothered him most. In their ever more requent absences Kydobi could help but suspect the company they kept. His heart raced at the thought, everything tensed in anger. The shapeshifter was his and only his to love. Even if he didn't want to have a relationship, even if he feared he wasn't enough. Surely he was worth keeping? Not someone to be replaced?

He thought of his past. Of his mother. Of his alleged father. Of how he was cast away cause the blood coursing through his veins wasn't the King's at all. Of how he was embarrassed and stripped of his title as Prince. Of the respect he lost from others all cause of the nature of his sire. Of how he was replaced by his mother's new litter.

Of how he was casted out and thrown away. And oh it hurt. But it went away. Yet the insecurities never did. Shadows of the past affected him still. He wanted to be enough. To someone at least. Ramona wanted nothing to do with him. Everyone else was acquaintances. No one knew him as intimately as Lynn. None made the jaguar feel warmth in his heart and all around like Lynn.

His Lynn.

It was the height of the night, a full moon illuminated the sky and all below her on a blueish glow. A lone figure stalked through the jungle quietly. Looking, hunting for the scent of a dragon or jaguar.

Kydobi had caught the scent, having not smelled it in days he would track it.

Eventually he came upon them.

"Bai, where have you been?"

They were oddly bathing in the river. Now that wasn't unheard of, rivers were a common way to maintain hygiene. But it was the Red River.

Was the dragon trying to hide a scent? A poisonous and paranoid thought. He didn't even need to wonder who.

Eyes flickered down as they spoke, in the moment he raised them he was looking at a fellow jaguar.

He exhaled, "Patrolling huh. Hopefully you'll be quick to tell us when danger arrives no matter how familiar of a face it wears." a slight jab but could easily be overlooked.


Kydobi flicked his ear, and sat down. His posture had returned to it's former high glory, having found purpose in the war.

Amber hues were especially bright tonight, lit the flames of envy. Something was dwelling deep inside, a beast that had slumbered for eternity and had yet to stir.

If he hadn't been so worried, bitter maybe, Kydobi would've seen the seductive feel of the night.

Eyes looked at the fur, a slight flicker of want and sorrow. How soft it was. It would be nice to hold. But then the image of Idyll touching them- no the movement of Bai Shi seeking their touch replayed. His eyebrows drew down and narrowed his eyes. Heart began to race a little. Bai wanted them. Now if Idyll made an attempt then he wouldn't be so mad, he would lie to himself. But he couldn't be sure

Calm down.

"You have a daughter. Then you know you're putting her at risk everytime you mingle with that mutt.", he stared at the dark figure before him, trying to look without really seeing, "If one of the more avid Pittians catches wind of this, he could use her to hurt you."

[OOC: mobile, I'm trying to get Kydobi angry at Bai but it's so HARD haha, he loves them and them being so mature is hard to get a realistic reaction from Ky that results in a fight]


They intended on courting then. His expression softened into stone. A blank slate

"I never had much to begin with. I came here with nothing, and found more than just a home. The very few things I call mine reside in this jungle. The war will end. And if it ends far from our favor then I will end with it. But I am not without cause, they are a few people here my heart has grown fond for and I find myself needing to protect my home. In many ways, what I find comfort and safety in is being threatened to be swept away by others. Taken from me."

His home and his love. Kydobi was unsure if they picked up on the double meanings. He hoped they wouldn't, it was like screaming the truth among the deaf. He got some sort of relief.

But not the consolation and reassurance he desired

"But I refuse to let them take from me. I have few things to lose but it makes the loss all more greater. Few things that I cannot replace. So I'm doing my best to make sure we win. And when we do I will do my best to make sure that those who live among me are safe from those who would kill them just because of the scent on their pelt."


He stood up and took a step forward, "Can you say the same? Or are you going to keep using the dead as an excuse to allow people to destroy where we live."

It finally dawned on him that Bai Shi may not feel for him anymore. Because of Idyll, he was convinced, not his inability to confirm the mutual feelings.

He snorted, "I don't think I'll let you kill Jervis. For the sake of familiarity. You strike him down, who knows who takes lead next. Fourthwall? Me? I will not fight for a throne but the fact I ever attained it is enough for a Challenger to rid themselves of a threat. And what if the brute that assumes the throne is far worse than Jervis?" his words were spoken with an growl. his next were spoken out of hurt. He wanted to sob and scream all at once. A flurry of emotions were building up and spilling out all at once. Or were they just trying to hurt him?

"if you plan on betraying us then leave now. I won't allow you to harm my happiness. Leave Bai Shi, I won't tell Jervis yet. I don't want him to make an example out you, he did it once who knows what he'll do the second time coming." it would hu


He flicked his tail, anger in his heart caused it to harden. It hurt him to say it.

"Go court Idyll in their home. Leave.", it ended in a snarl with his teeth bared. Another step forward only a few feet from them.

[OOC: mobile,  *exploding jaguar on de way* feel free to post after Bai. O decided it would probably be best instead of waiting for Ky to be in flames lmao ]

It was okay until they said his last name. It slapped him in the face, caused him to wince at the sound. He had thought he was over it, but clearly not. After the pain subsided it was quickly replaced with rage. Ears were roaring and his breathe quickened. All they had said after was background noise, easily drowned out by the sound of his heart drumming.

He didn't realize, in his state of mind, that he had never told Bai how his past affected him. Only what had occurred. But he falsely believed that it was a low blow, a sharp blow. All he saw was the jaguar before him. Eyes dropped to claws being unsheathed. So it would be like that.

The onyx figure lowered his head and tucked his chin closer to his neck a little. Lip slowly pulled up in a menacing snarl. The very expression many of his prey saw before they saw nothing. His breath got deeper and heavier in preparation for what was going to come.

Love quickly, if temporarily, switched to pure hatred. Such a thin line that he happened to cross it for the moment. A deeper thunder would be rumbling in the brute's chest in response to the hiss. Ears flattened against his skull. Tail lashing whipping the tip from left to right to left and back again.

Kydobi wanted to kill.

"I'll chase you out myself.", his voice was so different from itself. Deeper and much more primal. Savage even. His intent was to hurt. He would creep forward even more, quickening his step until he rushed forward. Nose to nose with the jaguar, his hearts last attempt to hold himself back. Odd, his heart didn't want to hurt Bai, but his heart was also the cause of it.

His eyes were glowing. Slitted so thin that they were nearly orbs of pure lava. A storm was stirring and each moment they got brighter and brighter. A chain was coiling around something deep inside in one desperation to keep it contained. But it was coiling too tight and taught. It was cracking.

All he could think about was hurt, betrayal. False love. His mother, life at the jungle, the damn coyote, failure to be enough, brother abandoning. Everyone leaving. Everyone hurting him. The beast was tire of being hurt.

Another snarl would draw out, his maw opened wide. Past the menacing incisiors and razor canines was the faintest glow at the back of his throat. As if the source was some flame further down.

Jaws snapped shut, as a heat began to radiate within and without.

"I won't say it twice. Traitor"
