Being alone had it's perks when one wanted to think. But to be alone for too long meant torture, thoughts overwhelming and claiming their beholder behind thick chains and heavy emotions. Being left alone for too long caused Delilah to think about things that she normally wouldn't think about- the oncoming death of Leroy had Delilah working relentlessly for a way to make his end way much less painful. Even if it was a simple tranquilizer to ease the pain of dying, Delilah worked endlessly, using all of her extensive medical knowledge to find some sort of aide for the man she called her brother.
Delilah hadn't seen Leroy. He hadn't told her yet, but the scent of sickness rolled off of him almost constantly now, the worse his sickness got. He hadn't asked Selby how things were going, never even mentioned it because it wasn't her place to.
Pastel eyes moved slightly from the view of her plants when she heard a familiar voice, a soft smile taking up her pretty features as she began to scoot over just a bit- just enough for the hellhound to seat himself beside her. He smelled different, but she knew that it was Wormwood. Only Worm would sound like that.
"It's been here for years.. I suppose I just planted it here because only Selby could really find it on instinct. He actually wandered into my garden once. A funny child, indeed." Delilah chuckled softly, leaning down to sniff at her pile of flowers before she lifted up a lavender binding, holding it up in front of Wormwood with yet another kind smile. She seemed calmer. Maybe it was the kindness that was her way of coping. Maybe it would be easier this way, if she just pretended to be okay again.
As if the last person that connected her to the past wasn't going to die soon.
"Thank you.. I worked quite hard on it, especially since most of these are mutated to withstand the weather here in Tanglewood. Thanks to my mentor a long time ago, I'm finally able to do such a wondrous thing. Don't you think they're beautiful?"
