He’d never seen a hyena, but since they were scavengers, their bites probably infected easily. "My name is Selby, and I’ve lived here since I stopped living with my dad, close to a year now," he replied.
As he inspected the bites, he noted that several were infected, as he had predicted. He frowned at the pus leaking languidly from the wound, nose scrunching a bit at the acrid smell. Well, he knew what to do about that. "Alright. I know what to do. I’m going to clean these up, dress them, and bandage ‘em. Some of them are infected, so I’m going to need you to come in tomorrow and the day after so I can check on it. If they get worse, I might ask you to stay here so I can monitor you for blood poisoning. I don’t think it’ll come to that though, so no need to worry," the medic chattered as he moved about his home, collecting the necessary supplies. Water, fresh syringes, premade poultices, and fresh bandages.
Selby went back to Vathmos, first going to flush out the wounds on her neck. "This might sting a bit," he warned, filling a syringe with water and pushing the water onto the first wound. He gave her a moment to adjust, then continued. He went about his work quietly and efficiently, and when a section of her pelt had fully clean wounds, he dressed and bandaged them.
