Anything mechanical or was a machine in the world of humans was to make like more convenient and easier for the human race. A computer that could file your taxes for you. Using vocal commands to order something online without the use of a computer. Paying for groceries by a simple wave of a phone. Small robots that were used to clean your house and take care of children. This made it easier for humans to not worry about mundane tasks instead leave it to something else. Now, most of these things are no sentient and are just lines of code. Just like him, they did not have the means of processing their own wants and being sentient. That wasn't what they were designed for, as they were designed to help humans and nothing else. That's all it had ever been, to make humans more comfortable. When the first androids were built in the cyberlife facility, there was some skepticism from the public, at least from the small number of records that he had on cyberlife. Humans wondered exactly what the new androids were capable of, but the androids only came to reality after he was built. His build was a prototype to create something that was entirely made out of mechanical parts and had nothing organic about them. The android never got the chance to look over the blueprints for a human android, not like he would be able to communicate with it unless he was fitted with a translator. There was no point in having a translator when he was just a machine to do what he was told and complete simple tasks that didn't require vocalizations other than a couple of barks. All the programs and everything that he learned through visuals were for the benefit of humans. He wasn't supposed to become a nuisance to any human, as they were superior to him when it came in record to what his coding told him. He was here to serve and save lives. If needed, he could become a companion, but if he were to, none of it would be genuine as he had no free will and it was inside of his programming. The machine didn't have quite a grasp on how to react to certain human emotions as that was never in his design. There were maybe a few instances where he and Hal bonded, but those moments were few as he stayed strictly to his own missions. However, he did help Hal from time to time, such as making sure that he wouldn't drown in his own vomit if he had too much to drink. Calling paramedics if he were to get injured in the field or somehow at home. He was whatever the lieutenant wanted to be. His owner almost but also not quite. If the lieutenant was to give him an order that went against his mission or was detrimental to it, his coding allowed him to ignore that order.
He wasn't human. He never would me. He was a wolf and had read several scientific articles to get a better understanding of his own species. With his access to the internet, there was no limit to the data that he could collect. The android knew that years ago, the human public did not enjoy the appearance of wolves, especially farmers. It was strange that his creators immediately went with the aspect of a wolf. Maybe they did it to make him seem intimidating more than a dog. A wolf could survive on its own for a long time, but there would always be the need to find others of their species to socialize with. RK did not have that drive to socialize, as there was nothing in his code that allowed him to socialize with other animals unless he really needed to. He was under the complete control of the humans, a literal dog to be commanded by the police force. RK never wondered what it was like to feel like a regular dog, because he knew what he wasn't, and never could be. Those were fantasies and thoughts that could lead to ignoring the orders that were given to him. Always follow orders. His coding wouldn't it fail his tasks, and there was always an aspect of the canine to please his creators and humans. Was that a part of him that could be considered to be a dog? A mission to please? No. He was an android. He was lucky that his creators gave him the will to move around. RK would never say that he was alive, because he wasn't, not entirely. Once a corpse turned into a machine. There was no denying it, so he accepted what he was and moved on, not bothering to think what could be. RK was still a prototype, so social cues were a little bit harder for him in regard to humans and animalia. He couldn't get an accurate read on Hal's current mental state now that he wasn't a human anymore as humans were capable of showing a wide range of emotions. Reassurance was not the first action in his protocol, and he did not believe that Hal needed it. They had been through rough situations where no reassurance was required and he felt as if Hal was holding it together. RK had it easy when it came to thinking about what he was going to do now, he could easily just walk to a police station and they could use him, but Hal? What would he do now if there were no longer any options for him? Would RK stick with Hal? Yes, without a doubt. His creators had given him to Hal when he was a human, and it was now deep within his code to never leave his side if he could help it. There were a couple of times that he would need to scout ahead to gather information, but those were the only times he left Hal's side. The command 'stay' that most androids and dogs commonly followed meant nothing to him, as 'Protect Hal' in his protocol required him to constantly be present.
The showing of aggression at first didn't really concern the android. This was because he was used to the gruff way that Hal interacted with his other fellow police officers and figured this was just what it was like when he was a dog now. It was always going to be a strange thought if they were stuck like this in this unknown place. His eyes never left the larger creature in front of him, a breed that was considered to be a working dog and capable of surviving low temperatures. That wasn't what he was remembering though, and instead, he was monitoring the Lieutenant's heart rate. Plenty of instances had the unit inside of interrogation rooms as almost like a lie detector, and when there was a robotic wolf in the room some were quick to answer questions at the fear of having the K9 unit pounce onto them for lying. Right now, he could deduce that the Lieutenant was a liar and that he was indeed not fine. The saint bernards heart rate seemed to slowly begin to increase in rate even after the lieutenant spoke, showing panic. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Lieutenant Hal, I would insist on telling the truth. If you are injured in any way are experiencing symptoms that I cannot identify, I will not be able to provide assistance to help with your condition. I recommend taking deeper breaths to lower your steadily increasing heart rate.[/glow]" His response is robotic as always, and part of his voice doesn't even sound like a regular voice. The lupine could already see that the canine was stressed from what he was going through, but he didn't believe a physical approach would help in any way due to Hal lashing out aggressively. If he were human, RK would have most likely approached him, as he had no fear of being damaged, but instead needed to keep Hal's trust as it was against his coding to be a nuisance to those that were superior to him. The LED in his right eye began to flash yellow again as he analyzed the lieutenant for an unknown number in the span of a couple minutes.

Level of Stress: 78%.. Dangerous Stress Levels Reached
Lower Stress Levels
RK had memorized all the files for those that worked for the police department. This allowed him to adjust to any human that would approach him based on the personalities and their last psychological evaluation. Lieutenant Hal's file had certainly been extensive the first time that he read it over, and he used it as a reference. The shock the former police officer showed with RK getting so close surprised the unit if he could honestly be surprised that is. He did not predict such a response from the lieutenant, but in these circumstances, he should have looked at all possible outcomes from his movements. He made a not in his programming for next time to look at how Hal was doing mentally before approaching him quickly. Did the saint bernard think of him as a threat due to his sudden approach? He knew the basics of canine behavior as he had been doing research over the internet when he worked for the police department. The order that was given to him to back up caused him to respond immediately and give some distance between him and Hal. This was his fault and he was going to fix it. It was hard for the android to think of the lieutenant as more of a canine than a human now, but that could play to his favor. RK's body language immediately reflected that of a submissive wolf, his tail slightly tucked between his legs and his head looking away from Hal exposing the side of his neck, which in turn made him avoid eye contact. This is what canines looked like when they were submissive, at least in the records he could still access. "[glow=#212121,2,200]My sincerest apologies Lieutenant Hal. My intention was not to make you uncomfortable. I will make a note not to approach so suddenly.[/glow]" That was all he could offer for his mistake. Hal was indeed a lot larger than him, but that didn't mean that RK was unskilled either. He had plenty of fights under his belt, mostly against humans, and his claws were like knives. But, he would never win in a fight against Hal, as he would never fight back against his owner. As Hal started to calm down, RK slowly started to move out of his submissive stance but did not meet Hal's gaze once he was standing straighter. Another part of RK did not understand what was rhetorical, as a rhetorical question had never been directed toward him. He was used to hearing Hal swear, although in his programming it was regarded as unprofessional to swear. His black ears were directed forward so that he would at least be able to keep track of the lieutenant's heart rate, and it had calmed down somewhat now that there was a distance between them.
"[glow=#212121,2,200]I would not use that term to accurately describe our current predicament. There must be a logical explanation for what happened to us, we just need to find the additional data needed to find the answer.[/glow]" RK isn't sure what will happen if there is no logical explanation. There has to be. If there isn't, he wasn't exactly sure what that would do to his coding and the chip that commanded his actions. His LED would blink yellow for a split second at the condescending thought of never being able to find an answer. While, the entire time, his facial expression did not show emotion. Once Hal started to stand up, RK finally allowed his gaze to return to the saint bernard's body. It seemed like they were getting ready to move out, and he didn't have to stand up again as he had been standing after having been ordered to back up. Pick a direction.
Updated Subobjective: Find civilization
In Progress
Looking up toward the sky, RK was able to figure out the directions North, South, West, and East. After a couple of calculations in the back of his head, his LED turning yellow, he was able to decide on a direction. The LED returned blue once he began speaking again. "[glow=#212121,2,200]I recommend we head North, in case we find any clues in that direction.[/glow]" Why did he pick North? He wasn't sure. Something in his programming just told him it was the right way to go. Once Hal started to move, RK would move with the dog. The height difference never really bothered RK, as when Hal was a human he was far more taller than him. RK made sure to keep checking Hal's vitals every couple of minutes as they walked, entering a denser forest during their walk. The android kept a small distance between him and the lieutenant due to the other's aggression to him early but walked parallel with his partner. The forest that they were in was extensive, and they walked for almost an hour from his calculations. It was during this time that RK suddenly heard the sparking electricity stopping him in his tracks. He looked down at one of his right legs and noticed a small amount of metal plating had moved and a wire was sticking out, sparking loudly in the silence of the forest. He immediately began to run a diagnosis as it was one of the problems that he had ignored before as it wasn't going to interfere with his mission for at least a small amount of time.

Component#302 Severed, Requires Repair
Consequence: Slower Movement/Reaction Rate In Front Right Appendange
He wouldn't be able to find a repair for it right now and would have to attempt to patch it up instead. RK didn't say anything as he immediately sat himself down and removed the small panel that was hanging off, and began to look at the internal components of his leg.
