Rebooting.....

Rebooting.....

Reboot complete

Initializing....

Electricity whirled to life, but the source of the sound did not move completely. Both of the creature's eyes remained opened. The left eye had a dark organic brown hue, while his right eye had a red circle showing nothing organic. The red light pulsed through the metallic object for several seconds, before finally, the creature's limbs started to move. It started with a couple of blinks. The being opened and closed his eyes several times, before slowly beginning to raise its head. However, the canine didn't move completely and seemed to stop shortly. There was no confusion that could be seen across his face, and instead a stoic and expressionless would greet anyone that would come across him. The robotic right eye flashed red for a moment before his head turned to look at the rest of his body. His programming immediately began to take over as he attempted to diagnose exactly why he was here and what had happened to him. Had he been shut down? What had happened moments before this?

Accessing memory....

Error

Corrupted memory 56%

That was strange. He didn't seem to remember there every being a reason why his memory could be corrupted in such a way. The unit constantly made sure to check if there were viruses that accessed his system during the times that he was in sleep mode waiting for his job. There was no longer a chance that his memory would give him the answers that he needed, so the next part of his protocol was to check his functions and make sure that they worked.

Running Diagnosis.....

Optical unit functional

Appendages have moderate damage, slower movement

Processor chip functional

Biocomponents undamaged

Unit functionality.... 78%

For the most part, there were little physical injuries to his body. Injuries technically meant little to him, as he could not feel pain. Those that manufactured him from the body of a canine, they replaced a large number of his components with mechanical ones. This included severing several of his nerve endings to make it easier to work with him in the field when it came to law enforcement. Not feeling any pain meant that he could continue his functions and complete his mission despite his injuries. He had been part of the police force, and he knew the mortality rates of K9 units in the field and knew that he would more than likely to die in the field. He was not a pet. He was a robot that was made to follow orders and protect the lives of humans. Maybe something happened out in the field that ended up with him in a strange place. Maybe whatever attacked him tried to salvage him for parts. His robotic eye slowly began to transition from red to yellow as he began to move his appendages. The small canine had metal legs that stopped just below his shoulders, the plating in that area hiding the electrical components underneath. The unit moved so that he was on his stomach, using his legs to eventually stand himself up. After running a diagnosis on his legs to make sure that they could support his weight, he focused himself on the objective at hand.

Current Objective: Protect Leutenant Hal

The android looked around his surroundings, taking in the scenery. His right eye began to flash yellow as he tried to access a form of communication with any nearby cruisers to provide backup in case the situation grew dire. However, as he tried to do so, there was no connection. There was no connection at all. All of his methods of long-range communication no longer functioned, causing him a great deal of concern. The matter at hand was that Hal was nowhere in site after whatever had happened, and it was his job to serve the human in his tasks and the different cases that they took. It was his job, and that was all there was. He knew that the human wasn't capable of understanding him, and those that created him never fitted him with a communicator so that he could speak in the language that humans did as the technology had no permitted it at the time. Flexing his metal claws into the ground, his right eye remained yellow as he began walking around. [glow=#212121,2,200]"Lieutenant Hal!"[/glow] The silver and black colored Eurasian timber wolf called out. To a regular human, it would simply sound like a metallic bark. To other animals, they would be able to understand exactly what he was saying. The K9 unit attempted to scan for any life signs in the area, but was unsuccessful as the range of such ability was incredibly short. He had his K9 vest on as he walked around, making very little sounds with his movements and continued to call out his partner's name. While he did so, he began to check the rest of his functions. All that mattered was Hal's condition and nothing less.

Re: TIME IS COME WHERE WE ALL FALL | PRIVATE - Whisper - 06-07-2019

Hal's mind was awash in cloud , soft drowse that only sharpened in the registration of pain buzzing under his skin . everything hurt. Waking up was a pain , a chore at the moment. Hal's consciousness slowly returned to him , trying to retreat back into his head - mentally grasping for the last dregs of sleep as it eluded him . He wasn't going to sleep anytime soon groaining softly, "unfair" ; Nothing was fair for him . Sleepy mumble the only thing that showed any last threads of sleep - his body was wakeing up - buzz buzz buzz under his skin, a constant - throbbing in his head. hangover ? no, he didn't much drink last night, did he?

He can't remember . well, there answered that question, didn't it? no . Hal was used to missing a few hours after a few sips, but he couldn't remember anything. As much as he has wished before - drinking until he forgot - it never happened . Drinking until your forgot never worked - drinking until you couldn't remember did. this . . . this was not that. He was hit in the head - somewhere , someone -

[glow=#add8e6,2,300]'Lieutenant Hal!'[/glow]

the buzz of those words was a worrying thing , really .

blinking his own stale grey eyes open revealed nothing out of the ordinary - natural green grass - a few cluster of trees within the distance. Hal came to in a clearing - void of anything sole the voice that knew his name , that buzzed with the same undertone of the non-living companion that was gifted to him. Trying to sit up proved difficult , his limbs too short- his torso twisted into a curl that was natural of a human - he felt the ground under him - hands and feet pressing into the earth -

wait .

The proportions of his body was different, off . for one he stood evenly on his hands and feet - looking down only came to show four limbs covered in fur.

He tensed - outwardly his whole body did a sway as a full body shudder took hold of him - balance in this form was natural - instinctual even. The sway of a spotted brown tail swoop in and out of sight as he caught himself mid air - panic drowned out in shock - panic , will come later for how ; what kind of drugs did i take ?.

The voice that roused him - the pain that buzzed under his skin faded slowly out of his awareness - the saint Bernard  backing up - back-most feet dragged until he sat down, tail swept in grass - he looked dazed at himself. Chest a mottled white - muzzle ( from what he could see of it ) White with black spotting . what . . . ?

he was a brown , big fluffy dog .

A sudden sound escaped him - a loud bark of laughter , wheezed between once abused - now animal lungs. Oh god damn . . . what a god damn mess did he get himself into ? He couldn't remember - anything at all . vague facts - he was a police officer - a detective really , he was given his own dog-bot - experimental design of latest tech because he was lonely ( the why eluded him ) -

He never named his companion, did he ?

He lifted a paw - trying to sooth the ache - buzz under his skin . the shock was fading slowly, pain sharp stab against his thoughts - cutting panic for now in turn to try and alleviate the pain - that felt so close to a gunshot wound . . .

was he dead ? This was a shitty afterlife .

[ whenever i get off this . . . drug. I promise , no more drugs. God do i remember why i never dabbled again . . . ]

something caught in the preferential of the detective's sight - a flash of black and silver - the familiar glow of yellow - the familiar sight of his companion. Threat - ally registered into his mind - whip shot fast - and he bolted into action, large form clumsy - new without all the aches his old body had - "[glow=#121212,2,300]Rk ?![/glow]" clumsy on his tongue - words - a language he knew not but his body naturally translated to."[glow=#121212,2,300]W- wait ![/glow]" Just as his companion had drifted into sight he left - and the Saint Bernard was left the chase after him. Large paws ate at the ground as he pounded after the wolf -

"[glow=#121212,2,300]what . . . what happened? Rk? It's me , Hal ![/glow]"

Re: TIME IS COME WHERE WE ALL FALL | PRIVATE - | RK515 | - 06-07-2019

regular text - "[glow=#212121,2,200]speaking[/glow]" -
There was little to what the unit could remember before finding himself what seems to be a deciduous forest from what his data was telling him about the trees in the area. He had all of his memories from when he was created up to the point where he found deactivated for some strange reason. He had already checked his battery and the charge that his components had, and he still had plenty of charge to at least last him several more days as long as he didn't use the different components of his body. So, that wasn't the issue, then what it had been? He and the lieutenant had been on several missions and calls during the time that he was put into active duty. Of course, his specs needed to be tested and he was made with the latest technology of the human race, but even he was limited. If anything, one could almost consider him to be a prototype, and why he was given the lieutenant he wasn't exactly given the specific reason. Not that it bothered him to be with the bearded man, he just found the other's health choices not optimal for what a human being should choose. He constantly had to make sure to check the human's vitals to make sure that he would survive the night when he drank too much. How damaged Hal's liver was he did know and probably would not be able to tell unless he opened up the human, which wasn't what he was created for. Most of the tasks that were given to the police station varied, from detective work to apprehending criminals all across the city. Over the course of human history, canine companions were used to make their jobs easier and to provide companionship. However, it was easy to see that canines were not always out of the line of fire as there were several deceased K9 units over the years that were either shot or stabbed in the line of duty. A company that helped create new inventions for the police department in the area decided to try an experimental design. The humans could not simply use a regular dog as it would put too much strain on their body, instead they needed a more robust creature. The base of his creation is the body of a Eurasian timber wolf, and it was there they began to take his body apart and put him back together. The body that was used was almost dead, and the mechanical components brought the body back to life and chip was used to bring his brain back to life thanks to the electrical charges.

The unit had no interest in the way he was created and did not have the ability to have independent thoughts for himself thanks to the coding inside of his system. He wasn't completely robotic, and is more of an android instead, having biocomponents still leftover. Creating an android is easier than creating a full robot as one can make use of the organic components to continue to run other systems of the body. The last job him and the lieutenant were given was to apprehend a criminal that had a warrant for his arrest and was said to be armed in a secluded part of town. Considering the amazing success rate of the two partners, backup was rarely needed. He led the way into the house, using his incredible sense of smell to track the human's scent that wasn't his partners. Hal made sure to cover the corners while he wasn't looking. It took them several minutes to find the criminal, and police were not allowed to fire on site. Hal gave the usual protocol that came with arresting someone and instructed the criminal down onto the ground. At first, the criminal did not resist as soon as he spotted the robotic K9 unit that had been over the news over several occasions. Thanks to the mechanical components, he was able to understand the words that were spoken by the two humans, and having the behaviors embedded into his code he followed them perfectly like he always did. Hal instructed him to get closer to make sure that he wouldn't move, and as he moved into position, he was able to take note that the man was laying down on something. In an instant, both he and the criminal moved, his metal teeth attempting to clamp down onto the criminal's body to keep him from getting up.

He could tell that whatever he was laying on, was metal and could potentially be used as a weapon. He felt nothing, but his eyes were able to see that his metal teeth sank into the suspects left arm, but that left his right arm free. He could hear Hal shouting behind him at the suspect while he tried to get the man onto the ground with brute force. He almost managed to do so, but then his vision started to go blurry as he heard a cracking sound emitting from the side of his head. The man had picked up a small sledgehammer and had slammed it across the side of the canines face. It stunned the android for several moments but he felt no pain. His mechanisms forced him to release his grip as his body began to run a diagnosis on his condition. His optical relays started to malfunction for a moment, and he wasn't able to see what happened after that, but he did hear the sound of footsteps running in the distance. This still did not answer exactly how he had managed to end up here unless the suspect had brought him here, but his most expensive parts were still intact. The small lupine continued to call out his partners name, hoping that his bark would sound somewhat familiar and draw the man closer to him. A voice made him stop in his tracks at the call of part of his designation number. The android stopped in his tracks at the familiar voice and turned his head. What he saw made no logical sense. There was no confusion spread across his face or even fear from hearing his partners voice coming from the animal that was coming from him. The K9 unit turned himself around so that he could look at the dog, but didn't immediately respond to Hal as if to make sure that this was indeed real. RK was certain humans could not simply turn into a different species as it was not logically possible.

Analyzing....

Species: Saint Bernard, large breed

Conducting voice authentication.....

Accessing voice records....

Cross-processing....

Voice Match

Maybe there was a malfunction in his programming. The likelihood was slim, as a sledgehammer could only do so much damage to his body and there was almost no evidence on the side of his head. His right eye remained the yellow hue as the circle pulsated as he accessed his data. At the same time, both of his eyes seemed to twitch slightly, one of the glitches that happened due to his unit currently in the prototype stages. Everything he analyzed in just a couple seconds told him that this was indeed Lieutenant Hal, however unlikely it actually may be.

Current Objective: Find Lieutenant Hal.... Complete

Updating Objective....

New Objective: Gather Data On Lieutenant Hal's Health

After one second, his eyes stopped twitching and his right eye soon became a light blue as he began to take hold of the situation. His partner was now a dog, and he could understand the saint bernard, a breed that made him a lot taller than he was. Which, he was used to since Hal was already taller than him when he was a human. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Lieutenant Hal. This is certainly strange as there is nothing in my databanks depicting a human turning into a Canis lupus familiaris[/glow]" The android would reply with a stoic expression and his posture straight just like he always did. He did not exactly have the answers that were needed to explain such a strange situation as his right eye started to glow yellow as he looked over the canine in front of him that was designated as Hal. He was able to see that the saint bernard didn't have any serious visible injuries and no broken bones. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Lieutenant Hal, your condition shows no broken bones and no visible injuries. Currently, your condition can be ranked as: healthy, in terms of... saint bernard.[/glow]" It was hard to come to terms with. This made absolutely no logical sense, and all of his processes were running at full power to try and figure out an answer to their current situation. After a second of that, the android sat himself down, his head raising slightly as he was to give a report to any officer, and without any computer to upload his report to, he would have to say it vocally to the only officer in the area. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Lieutenant, our current location is unknown. I am not currently capable of running at full capacity as several of my functions have ceased functioning. I am unable to contact fellow police officers to assist us and I am unable to connect to communication networks. This is likely due to the blunt trauma sustained while attempting to apprehend Lewis McMillan on Wednesday night at 2300 hours. Upon being hit, my programming began to diagnose for broken components while my optical functions malfunctioned. All I heard after before shutting down was your footsteps and Lewis McMillan's footsteps running in the opposite direction toward the back of the house. I do not know what had happened after, as I should not have shut down after the blunt trauma.[/glow]" His response was without emotion and followed protocol. It was blunt and directly to the point. After a minute, his right eye began to glow blue as he looked at Hal, waiting for his next orders.

Re: TIME IS COME WHERE WE ALL FALL | PRIVATE - Whisper - 06-07-2019

RK515 was familiar, in an alien setting the detective clutched at the familiar figure with a reverence. Fixation easy for an addict - lost dazed and confused - it was human behavior , but something hummed just under that logic - a subtle thing ; pack. Hal had never paid much mind to dog behaviors - someone close to him - had wanted a dog and the avoidance after . . . ( After what , what happened to that person - Why did he leave why do they always leave ? ) He never got a dog , for whatever reason . He was a lone detective - a lone human - a sole contributor to his life - and his mannerisms were solely his . RK was a gift - a motivator - incentive . Hal was not part of the canine unit - but his companion was not merely just a dog. A wolf . A threat - to all that he knew (all that he mourned ) . They had made quite a pair before . The lone detective and wolf in equal measure - finding companionship with RK was easy - smooth in a way it never had been with any of the other detectives . he never bothered then - but he never had a partner really either .

( seeing Rk was a relief . . . it was )

A detective in equal measure a companion. He was silent , analytical . Rk held no judgement that limited his mobility on the field . There was no compromising something that couldn't efficiently communicate with him . No judgement , just silent - there .  Slowly , somewhere Hal had developed a kinship - a friendship with RK . It was wonderful , a breath of fresh air to the stale life he had lived before - the one he made himself . ( there is this thing about loneliness , you choose to be alone - but no one choose to be lonely . Did they ? ) Being alone caused less grief - less Strife . Before - the cost had been worth it , but now - now Hal just wasn't for it . He liked the trust , the reliance - the small subtle thing became an insistent ring pack - pack Rk felt like a comfort , like a drug in the way that this new - subtle thing seemed so insistent he notice .

Watching RK stop - turn and analyze Hal - like a stranger struck him suddenly , The detective stilled - watching the yellow eye with his breath caught - what if . . .

yellow blinked to a light blue - and the larger canid breathed out in relief . He listened to RK's Words with a slight amusement - listening , because Rk Learned English - or he learned to speak dog . . doglish? meh . The undercurrent buzz of his companions voice just familiar enough to the way he used to sound nonverbal - to keep the panic away . Hal was good , great even at pushing down his emotions - and he attempted to do that under the drone of the verbal report. It was robotic - entirely like RK , and even the memories of when he acted more dog-like less android , to hear how computerized Rk was was slightly . . . creepy . It was Easier to ignore when he was silent beside the static barks that would alert him o danger - or grab his attention ; The mannerisms from long unprogrammed instincts , and the concern that RK showed him made him easier to trust - but . . . ( it felt wrong here ) .

"[glow=#212121,2,300]I . . . Normal ? No ,  none of this is normal RK .[/glow]" his voice sounded tired even to him . Put upon , silver grey eyes watched his companion as he too sat down. Saint Bernard? Well , at least he wasn't a Corgi or something undignifying ( silently : at least he was still taller than his companion )  Hal listened to RK's report , trying to rack his brain for something - anything . the name sounded familiar , but in a distant way - it brought no memories , but he felt the buzz of pain just near his chest flair again , an idle paw coming to rest there . he hummed lowly , the sound low and without melody , cut off to more of a hum - because talking still was so weirdas a dog .

" [glow=#212121,2,300]I don't . . . remember , Rk - I don't remember much of anything . What case ?[/glow] " memories - anything recently came up blank - he remembered getting a case about a few string of robberies , but he hadn't worked on it yet - since the suspect was unknown beside a moniker of streets .  He shook his head , trying to drag his mind out of the question ( and the rising panic that came with it ) .

He was still hoping he'll wake up , but for now . . . well, hal had always rolled with the punches . " [glow=#212121,2,300]Can you estimate the amount of time you've been out ? Maybe a date for today ?[/glow] " THey had to orientate  themselves ( Like how RK had done for him . . . ) Needed to find out where they were - what happened . This was all too unreal - so [i]wrong
, but they had to make do with the situation at hand . " [glow=#212121,2,300]We should also try and find some locals , but . . . later .[/glow] " He was unsure , hesitant - look for a human settlement ? Or . . . an Animal one ? " [glow=#212121,2,300]What is your experience with other animals Rk? you were . . . made , but surely you've come across other creatures beside mankind . You have any idea ? [/glow] " was there even a human settlement nearby - ( how was he sure it wasn't another human that did this to him ? ) - animals , other creatures could become hostile - see them both as a threat , but something told him false - something Hal instinctually trusted .

Re: TIME IS COME WHERE WE ALL FALL | PRIVATE - | RK515 | - 06-07-2019

regular text - "[glow=#212121,2,200]speaking[/glow]" -

Despite having been created from a body of a canine, the creature did not have the same feeling of instincts as Hal was currently suffering through. Everything that was in his processing was from the chip that was inside of his head and would forever remain there unless it was forcibly removed. The body that had been given to him had recently died, so one could even say that he wasn't alive anymore and it was only the electrical components that were keeping him alive. If he was to suffer a severe electrical surge, it could just as easily kill him. He had vitals just like any other creature, but he could sustain more attacks as more of his organic components had been replaced and he had an advantage in that he no longer felt any pain. RK had no idea what it was like to feel anything for that matter, as those were erased from the coding when they created him. He was the first of his kind, so he wasn't exactly perfect but he knew that he had a job to accomplish and that was all his life had ever been if it could be called that. He was here to serve and make sure everything went smoothly as possible with fewer injuries as there had been before. He wasn't just a regular canine either, as he wasn't supposed to be a pet dog to any human that would acquire him. He didn't play any games unless his processor said it would be beneficial to the human that was looking to play with him. Any form of physical contact with the creature was limited unless there were instances where a human would hug him. RK would make sure not to move a muscle when such instances happened. His programming allowed for integration into his surroundings that allowed him to blend in more instead of being the odd creature from the bunch in the middle of organics. He wasn't supposed to cause trouble for humans, and if there was anything in his programming that requested him to act more like a pet, he would do so in order to accomplish his mission and make it easier. Did someone need him to play fetch? Would it benefit their mental health if he did and get them closer to completing their task? He would then play fetch. Having access to the internet allowed him to do research on what a dog would do and how their behavior differed from him, and yet he was never able to really get the behavior down, his movements constantly robotic and without general emotion. Showing any form of emotion was incredibly difficult for the android, as he didn't have a feeling of what he was doing was right. All that mattered were the humans and their protection. It was embedded in his mind, and he didn't have the same emotion of caring that Hal had for him. He wasn't capable of caring, but he did need to protect the Lieutenant, which can be seen as him caring while in fact, it was just his programming.

The android listened to the response the Lieutenant had to everything that he had said moments ago. The Eurasian timber wolf didn't move from his spot and his eyes remained trained on the dog that was in front of him. It felt strange to see his partner in such a form and it still didn't make any sense. Instead of trying to figure out something that should be impossible, he turned his attention toward issues that he could logically fix. Of course, none of this was normal, but RK was trying to move away from what was normal and what was not in regard to how a human became a dog. Not coming up with a solution for that problem helped the rest of his systems focus on just as important aspects of their situation, such as the Lieutenant's health. RK made no gesture as he spoke to the canine in front of him. "[glow=#212121,2,200]No this is not normal. However, without any further data, I cannot formulate a solution to our current predicament.[/glow]" RK had limitations, he knew this, and he wasn't going to hide what he can and can't do from his partner as that would only hinder their work. Would they be able to communicate with humans if they found them? More than likely no, as his communication systems didn't work. His attention watched as the Lieutenant raised one of his paws over an area on his body. RK was quick to take note of any movements, even while they worked for the police department as it allowed for quicker reactions in the field if he could read if someone was about to start fleeing from the scene. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Lieutenant Hal, are you in pain?[/glow]" RK questioned, his tone almost showing concern. It wasn't genuine. He was programmed to change his tone whenever he was supposed to be concerned, and there had been a couple of instances where his programming had him whine in situations where Hal's condition was less than well. Right now, he was not capable of completely analyzing the lieutenant's vitals, although he was able to hear his partner's heartbeat and it was pumping at a regular rate so he wasn't on the verge of a panic attack.

With the lieutenant's response, it was cause for concern as the canine seemed to be suffering from memory loss similar to him. There were even points during their partnership that he no longer had the memories of, and that still concerned him if he would end up missing something because of those faulty memories. As the saint bernard spoke, the small canine got up onto his metallic paws and made his way toward the larger creature, stopping in what could be considered well within Hal's personal bubble. The android would tilt his head from the left and right as he examined the saint bernard closer up. He scanned the canine's head for any signs of blunt force trauma, but he did not see anything and his programs did not diagnose anything out of the ordinary. RK's face was maybe a few inches from the saint bernards, which meant that his head was tilted up so that he could just look at his face. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Lieutenant, there is no signs of blunt force trauma to your cranial area suggesting the loss of memory is caused by another factor I cannot seem to diagnose. We were given case #835, Lewis McMillan, a 45-year-old male on the run from the police known for his use of close ranged weapons. This case was allocated to us due to our success rate of apprehending violent criminals and close ranged weapons would not be able to deal fatal damage to my shell unless struck in a fatal area, increasing the probability of success.[/glow]" RK again spoke in a robotic tone and did not seem to be in care in regard for his own well being. He was expendable. The android knew that the company that created him would just make another once he was destroyed. His task was to complete his tasks with every means necessary, and this could mean sacrificing his own life. While he talked, the K9 unit didn't move from how close he was to the lieutenant.

At the saint bernard's direct order, his right eye began to slowly transition into a yellow as his right eye began to twitch as he tried to access such information.

As the error appeared in his coding, the LED in his eye blinked red for a split second. As soon as he gathered the necessary information that he could, RK sat himself down again as he gave his report. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Last known operations in my log date two days ago. Current time is 1000 hours. I was unable to access the date in my function as an error has appeared in my program. Cataloging error into memory along with known malfunctions.[/glow]" His eye would blink yellow again before returning to the regular blue after giving his report. He was slightly concerned with all the errors that were popping up into his system. He wasn't entirely self-sufficient with his programming, meaning that he would always go back to the company when he needed to get fixed. He was more than capable of fixing some portions of himself if there were no other options. RK remained in his listening mode as the Lieutenant continued to speak in front of him. He didn't have any solutions on their current situation, and couldn't offer an opinion as he wasn't capable of his own thoughts. His right eye this time remained blue as already had access to the answer that Hal was looking for. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Limited knowledge on knowledge of other animal species. Unit RK515 was created to assist in the protection of police officers and aid police departments in the quicker analysis of crime scenes, additional function is to rid the use of fully organic K9 units. My creators created me to be used as a tool to help and isolated me from other animals that were held in the facility. I have basic knowledge due to my databanks on blending into a domestic lifestyle if needed as one of my many functions. Only interactions with other organic animalia were on the streets of the city, and no communications were initiated between the two parties at interactions. Recommended course of action: Gather nearby data to formulate a logical answer and find the nearest sign of civilization.[/glow]" The android knew what he was. He knew why he was created, and those that made him made sure that he knew that. There was no point in trying to give him complete independence as that could lead to deviancy, and that could lead to an officer getting killed if a mistake was made.

Re: TIME IS COME WHERE WE ALL FALL | PRIVATE - Whisper - 06-07-2019

Hal was vaugly aware of what made RK , a machine he had to remind himself over and over again in the field , but a machine didn't play fetch . Didin't whine when he was hurt - or maybe it did ? It was hard to tell - anything really , Humans were so technologically advanced , anything could be made - a farce to please the general public - please him . But rk was a machine - the trust that Hal had before , memories of time spent in between missions rang a little hollow . made some part of the Saint bernard wilt just a little . he hoped to catch himself before RK could catch the small thought set . ( There was a reason RK was never given a name ) RK , thy name is machinery . Probably will remain so unless some sort of personality is shown .

Pragmatic , docile unless directed not to be , RK was the perfect companion because he was built to be . Independent to a certain point , an individual made to be tethered - to someone like him . Listening to the android state facts - because it wasn't reassurance , it was a report . like the fine courier printed report that RK had sent to Hal's boss when Hal never wanted to file a report . God why did it feel like betrayal ? All Hal knew - all he thought - was a fallacy created by superior programing of a human apathetic to his cause . God where was the humanity ? No where here - not anymore . Was he to act dog like now , find some cushy owner to feed him stale dry kibble and kneel at their feet ? The thought was appealing - would have been in any other scenario - but now it just made him angry volatile thing .

" [glow=#add8e6,2,300]Lieutenant Hal , are you in pain ?[/glow] " The concern ran false - a harp to appeal to his emotions . Hal felt a snarl rise in him - manipulative fucksat cyberlife . There was no reason the never gave RK a communicative device to talk with humans - it was a reminder that he wasn't human - wasn't truly alive . Just a droid void of any emotion . Hell - even dogs had something - instinct , but RK didn't did he ? So much Hal didn't understand , didn't want to know . Put in this scenario - talking with RK should have been a gift . All owners wanted to know what their pets talked about - what kind of conversations they could have , but there was a connection built there there was a want of validation , of companionship beyond the silent thereness every animal owner had .

Hal , he never really thought about it . Always weary of technology of dogs .

"[glow=#121212,2,300] I'm fine [/glow]" the detective growled , a flash of teeth - a snap - snarl in rage of his own thoughts running wild was usually not so beastial . But he was a beast now , an animal - weren't he ? The ancient laws that humankind abandoned - now paraded inside his skull , subtle twists that made the Saint Bernard want to bite - rip - rend . Hal was rubbed raw , precarious . Put into a setting he was not in control of anything but himself - himself and RK alike at least . Alone in a setting without help - without any awareness of were t turn . He was scared . in a situation where panic was slowly closing in on him , bubbling frothing to the surface no matter how much he attempted to push it away - push it down .

The low growl of his voice only picked up rapidly into a snarl - a full flash of teeth as the Saint bernard regained his full height . Silver eyes a flash of fury - fear " [glow=#121212,2,300] Gah ! Woa , backup ! [/glow] " The order was punctuated by a flash of teeth , only backing up himself to negate the command given - order . As it was , the same barking one he commanded criminals down . Authority was easy - control slipping between his fingers , but his ability to order - to bark commands ( no matter what form ) Remained .

Instinct , was a heady thing . It strangled his sense into submission until there was nothing but the fear remaining - silver eyes seemed to sharpen in contrast . Taking in the entirety of RK's form , assessing - wolves were naturally dangerous - superior to most dog breeds which were instead made to specialize by humanities side - RK was a wild created made by cruel hands of humankind . to ignore instinct entirely and remain dependent - maybe that was his instincts . Wolves didn't do well on their own - dogs didn't either . Both were subject to die without the proper needs pack

not a threat , pack . RK is safe .

Watching the LED of RK's eye flicker red as he performed diagnosis - finding an error and quickly progressing forward . Hal just felt weary . Relying on RK to find something . Any information at all would help wonders . RK's statement alluded he had little idea where they were - which was worrying considering his ability to connect to the internet , the GPS tracking system made for if he got lost - wasn't pointing anywhere " [glow=#121212,2,300] We really are fucked then , aren't we ? [/glow] " Hal asked, the question rhetorical as he gazed the area again , standing on all fours was a lot different - trees looked so much taller . The world put into a sharper focus than before .

Alone , they were on their own from here on.

God, what hal wouldn't do for a drink right about now .

As much as he wanted a drink , to fall under slumber and dream this experience away - what a hell of a dream . Hal was also tactical , there wasn't much that could be done beside - well, finding civilization . All that was left was picking a direction to go in -  a place to start somewhere - anywhere but here . "[glow=#121212,2,300] Alright, RK pick a direction ,  lets see if we can get anywhere . [/glow]"

regular text - "[glow=#212121,2,200]speaking[/glow]" -

Anything mechanical or was a machine in the world of humans was to make like more convenient and easier for the human race. A computer that could file your taxes for you. Using vocal commands to order something online without the use of a computer. Paying for groceries by a simple wave of a phone. Small robots that were used to clean your house and take care of children. This made it easier for humans to not worry about mundane tasks instead leave it to something else. Now, most of these things are no sentient and are just lines of code. Just like him, they did not have the means of processing their own wants and being sentient. That wasn't what they were designed for, as they were designed to help humans and nothing else. That's all it had ever been, to make humans more comfortable. When the first androids were built in the cyberlife facility, there was some skepticism from the public, at least from the small number of records that he had on cyberlife. Humans wondered exactly what the new androids were capable of, but the androids only came to reality after he was built. His build was a prototype to create something that was entirely made out of mechanical parts and had nothing organic about them. The android never got the chance to look over the blueprints for a human android, not like he would be able to communicate with it unless he was fitted with a translator. There was no point in having a translator when he was just a machine to do what he was told and complete simple tasks that didn't require vocalizations other than a couple of barks. All the programs and everything that he learned through visuals were for the benefit of humans. He wasn't supposed to become a nuisance to any human, as they were superior to him when it came in record to what his coding told him. He was here to serve and save lives. If needed, he could become a companion, but if he were to, none of it would be genuine as he had no free will and it was inside of his programming. The machine didn't have quite a grasp on how to react to certain human emotions as that was never in his design. There were maybe a few instances where he and Hal bonded, but those moments were few as he stayed strictly to his own missions. However, he did help Hal from time to time, such as making sure that he wouldn't drown in his own vomit if he had too much to drink. Calling paramedics if he were to get injured in the field or somehow at home. He was whatever the lieutenant wanted to be. His owner almost but also not quite. If the lieutenant was to give him an order that went against his mission or was detrimental to it, his coding allowed him to ignore that order.

He wasn't human. He never would me. He was a wolf and had read several scientific articles to get a better understanding of his own species. With his access to the internet, there was no limit to the data that he could collect. The android knew that years ago, the human public did not enjoy the appearance of wolves, especially farmers. It was strange that his creators immediately went with the aspect of a wolf. Maybe they did it to make him seem intimidating more than a dog. A wolf could survive on its own for a long time, but there would always be the need to find others of their species to socialize with. RK did not have that drive to socialize, as there was nothing in his code that allowed him to socialize with other animals unless he really needed to. He was under the complete control of the humans, a literal dog to be commanded by the police force. RK never wondered what it was like to feel like a regular dog, because he knew what he wasn't, and never could be. Those were fantasies and thoughts that could lead to ignoring the orders that were given to him. Always follow orders. His coding wouldn't it fail his tasks, and there was always an aspect of the canine to please his creators and humans. Was that a part of him that could be considered to be a dog? A mission to please? No. He was an android. He was lucky that his creators gave him the will to move around. RK would never say that he was alive, because he wasn't, not entirely. Once a corpse turned into a machine. There was no denying it, so he accepted what he was and moved on, not bothering to think what could be. RK was still a prototype, so social cues were a little bit harder for him in regard to humans and animalia. He couldn't get an accurate read on Hal's current mental state now that he wasn't a human anymore as humans were capable of showing a wide range of emotions. Reassurance was not the first action in his protocol, and he did not believe that Hal needed it. They had been through rough situations where no reassurance was required and he felt as if Hal was holding it together. RK had it easy when it came to thinking about what he was going to do now, he could easily just walk to a police station and they could use him, but Hal? What would he do now if there were no longer any options for him? Would RK stick with Hal? Yes, without a doubt. His creators had given him to Hal when he was a human, and it was now deep within his code to never leave his side if he could help it. There were a couple of times that he would need to scout ahead to gather information, but those were the only times he left Hal's side. The command 'stay' that most androids and dogs commonly followed meant nothing to him, as 'Protect Hal' in his protocol required him to constantly be present.

The showing of aggression at first didn't really concern the android. This was because he was used to the gruff way that Hal interacted with his other fellow police officers and figured this was just what it was like when he was a dog now. It was always going to be a strange thought if they were stuck like this in this unknown place. His eyes never left the larger creature in front of him, a breed that was considered to be a working dog and capable of surviving low temperatures. That wasn't what he was remembering though, and instead, he was monitoring the Lieutenant's heart rate. Plenty of instances had the unit inside of interrogation rooms as almost like a lie detector, and when there was a robotic wolf in the room some were quick to answer questions at the fear of having the K9 unit pounce onto them for lying. Right now, he could deduce that the Lieutenant was a liar and that he was indeed not fine. The saint bernards heart rate seemed to slowly begin to increase in rate even after the lieutenant spoke, showing panic. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Lieutenant Hal, I would insist on telling the truth. If you are injured in any way are experiencing symptoms that I cannot identify, I will not be able to provide assistance to help with your condition. I recommend taking deeper breaths to lower your steadily increasing heart rate.[/glow]" His response is robotic as always, and part of his voice doesn't even sound like a regular voice. The lupine could already see that the canine was stressed from what he was going through, but he didn't believe a physical approach would help in any way due to Hal lashing out aggressively. If he were human, RK would have most likely approached him, as he had no fear of being damaged, but instead needed to keep Hal's trust as it was against his coding to be a nuisance to those that were superior to him. The LED in his right eye began to flash yellow again as he analyzed the lieutenant for an unknown number in the span of a couple minutes.

Calculating Level Of Stress of Lieutenant Hal....

Accessing Psych Files of Lieutenant Hal....

Level of Stress: 78%.. Dangerous Stress Levels Reached

Lower Stress Levels

RK had memorized all the files for those that worked for the police department. This allowed him to adjust to any human that would approach him based on the personalities and their last psychological evaluation. Lieutenant Hal's file had certainly been extensive the first time that he read it over, and he used it as a reference. The shock the former police officer showed with RK getting so close surprised the unit if he could honestly be surprised that is. He did not predict such a response from the lieutenant, but in these circumstances, he should have looked at all possible outcomes from his movements. He made a not in his programming for next time to look at how Hal was doing mentally before approaching him quickly. Did the saint bernard think of him as a threat due to his sudden approach? He knew the basics of canine behavior as he had been doing research over the internet when he worked for the police department. The order that was given to him to back up caused him to respond immediately and give some distance between him and Hal. This was his fault and he was going to fix it. It was hard for the android to think of the lieutenant as more of a canine than a human now, but that could play to his favor. RK's body language immediately reflected that of a submissive wolf, his tail slightly tucked between his legs and his head looking away from Hal exposing the side of his neck, which in turn made him avoid eye contact. This is what canines looked like when they were submissive, at least in the records he could still access. "[glow=#212121,2,200]My sincerest apologies Lieutenant Hal. My intention was not to make you uncomfortable. I will make a note not to approach so suddenly.[/glow]" That was all he could offer for his mistake. Hal was indeed a lot larger than him, but that didn't mean that RK was unskilled either. He had plenty of fights under his belt, mostly against humans, and his claws were like knives. But, he would never win in a fight against Hal, as he would never fight back against his owner. As Hal started to calm down, RK slowly started to move out of his submissive stance but did not meet Hal's gaze once he was standing straighter. Another part of RK did not understand what was rhetorical, as a rhetorical question had never been directed toward him. He was used to hearing Hal swear, although in his programming it was regarded as unprofessional to swear. His black ears were directed forward so that he would at least be able to keep track of the lieutenant's heart rate, and it had calmed down somewhat now that there was a distance between them.

"[glow=#212121,2,200]I would not use that term to accurately describe our current predicament. There must be a logical explanation for what happened to us, we just need to find the additional data needed to find the answer.[/glow]" RK isn't sure what will happen if there is no logical explanation. There has to be. If there isn't, he wasn't exactly sure what that would do to his coding and the chip that commanded his actions. His LED would blink yellow for a split second at the condescending thought of never being able to find an answer. While, the entire time, his facial expression did not show emotion. Once Hal started to stand up, RK finally allowed his gaze to return to the saint bernard's body. It seemed like they were getting ready to move out, and he didn't have to stand up again as he had been standing after having been ordered to back up. Pick a direction.

Updated Subobjective: Find civilization

In Progress

Looking up toward the sky, RK was able to figure out the directions North, South, West, and East. After a couple of calculations in the back of his head, his LED turning yellow, he was able to decide on a direction. The LED returned blue once he began speaking again. "[glow=#212121,2,200]I recommend we head North, in case we find any clues in that direction.[/glow]" Why did he pick North? He wasn't sure. Something in his programming just told him it was the right way to go. Once Hal started to move, RK would move with the dog. The height difference never really bothered RK, as when Hal was a human he was far more taller than him. RK made sure to keep checking Hal's vitals every couple of minutes as they walked, entering a denser forest during their walk. The android kept a small distance between him and the lieutenant due to the other's aggression to him early but walked parallel with his partner. The forest that they were in was extensive, and they walked for almost an hour from his calculations. It was during this time that RK suddenly heard the sparking electricity stopping him in his tracks. He looked down at one of his right legs and noticed a small amount of metal plating had moved and a wire was sticking out, sparking loudly in the silence of the forest. He immediately began to run a diagnosis as it was one of the problems that he had ignored before as it wasn't going to interfere with his mission for at least a small amount of time.

Running Diagnosis.....

Diagnosis complete

Component#302 Severed, Requires Repair

Consequence: Slower Movement/Reaction Rate In Front Right Appendange

He wouldn't be able to find a repair for it right now and would have to attempt to patch it up instead. RK didn't say anything as he immediately sat himself down and removed the small panel that was hanging off, and began to look at the internal components of his leg.

Re: TIME IS COME WHERE WE ALL FALL | PRIVATE - Whisper - 06-11-2019

Adaptive , malleable , rk was the perfect machine wasn't he? a gruff admittance , a subtle but substantial curve to the once hostile placement of hal's aggression - fright . He was human : no, something more than that now . Mind critical on the understanding - the same muscle memories translated clumsily in this new form of his , large and young in comparison to all the grey hairs and rough scruffy beard that he was quite fond of. he couldn't detect his age , but based on the simple flow of basic functions without the constant ache that he was used to before . maybe this transformation was like a cure to something unstoppable , unavoidable in his human life . He wasn't human anymore , but not necessarily dog either . He had memories , not all in order or exact ( in what happened to him ) . Something different - new in being , or maybe not - maybe this is what rk felt , a displacement in all worlds, born yet created . Artificial , a creature created without feeling , told to mimic or be terminated .

There was no pity there , it was hard to feel for something unfeeling . No , hal was complacent - if unsettled with his partner - his companion . A sheep in wolf's clothings - or to be more precise an android draped in the the fur of a wolf . If they wanted to make RK less imposing , less f a threat - than they would've made RK a dog. German shepherds were nice , already associated with the police for their many years serving to help . Rk was at least small for his size , not a large wolf - the size and the behavior that hal was used to - the fact that RK was still here - helping, in his oblivious sort of way - soothed him. Hal didn't usually ground himself in logic , but now he couldn't help it . thoughts drowned out that subtle thing that tugged at his nerves and ran his emotions raw.

Logic was a way to ease his way through the scope of this . This unexplainable thing . Logic what he can , and refuse to think about the things that he can't. He can panic when he's drowning his issues at home , for now he needed to find a way out of this . He had to find a way to be normal , ad to find a way home .

what was home to him ?

you have no home, not anymore .

RK turned north , a guess not based in knowledge , and the hsitance rk showed in waiting for him to lead showed that . Reminded him of home cooked meals - soft coal-like curls '[glow=#212121,2,300]would you like chocolate, or vanilla?' he had asked , bending down - small so small. [/glow]A child still learning to crawl, an android making decisions without fact - only the base feeling of wanting. Childish , a rush of feeling - heady , prideful , pack .

Hal indulged Rk, Hal's steps still slumsy, gait wide and slow , considering step after step - like a child . he was not ignorant to the fact that Rk expected him to lead, and he attempted to fill the role , silvery eyes softening more to the original steel-blue. The walk was at an even pace , RK taking up step beside him and only halting as hal attempted to regulate his steps. Walking was easy to master, but the gait - the weight of his steps was so very different than two legs-

bzzt - bzzzt

Hal followed along with RK and stopped as the wolf took notice of his leg . Hal only now noticing the damage down . it looked small - insignificant : his legs were reinforced with metal to better promote speed and durability . The obvious tells for his rather inorganic nature was a strength - not a weakness . Hal stopped and watched RK silently , not  robotics expert but , damn it all - he grew with technology , he did pick up a few base things . "[glow=#212121,2,300]here, let me see rk?[/glow]" weary of his own previous action when approached to closely , he'd wait for some sort of response , negative or positive before-

( [glow=white,2,300][/glow] positive) walking closer , using one paw to lift the leg a little higher for him to see. A small nudge , he the Saint bernard let out a low hum - paw coming closer to aid his comanion in removing the outside anel before- [glow=white,2,300]zap![/glow] - " [glow=#212121,2,300]Shit ![/glow]" The yelp was reflexive, a small spark of the wire catching fur - but not burning . after a moment of realization - no pain at all . The reflex to pull back didn't come, but the soft utterance of cursing did , after a moment - with less hesitance - more confidence he attempted to see the issue : A severed wire . With no idea of what it even did to help RK, he was limited on how it helped his companion operate  . Hal couldn't for the life of him guess - Rk was a work of a technological marvel - and he? He had only the basic ideas .

but he could fix a wire.

Since the electricity didn't seem to hurt ( he'll ignore that tidbit of information now to freak out about - later ) maybe he could bed the wires . Paws slightly more dexterous - ( he was used to more joints, but now he had claws - sharp points to contract ) he could bend the wires and reconnect them - though that did nothing for the outer coating of the wire . He sat down properly, lifting up a paw he attempted to pinch the wires of the broken component together - quickly and crudely . but hopefully - functional .

( [glow=white,2,300]X[/glow] negative) nodding . the error in RK was not something hal could solve , something that could be easily fixed , at least not by him . It was sort of cruel , that rk was without a proper mechanic out here , the sight of Rk damaged -hurt only made the Saint bernard more weary of this entire situation . Lost alone in the woods , with no luck of civilization or internet . Jesus , it would just be his luck - A helpless detective-ee and a wounded android .

concern for rk , wasn't surprising but the curiosity that underlined it was as well . "[glow=#212121,2,300] does it hurt ?[/glow] " the question this time - was not rhetorical , and spoken out of his heart , bubbled out of his throat as he sat down - letting Rk analize his own unjury - maybe something from the same thing that turned him into a dog ?  Or maybe Rk just needed maintenance ? guilt

"[glow=#212121,2,300] Do you think you can continue ? [/glow]" a heartbeat after the net question - a flicker fire of emotion as Hal attempted to hide t under another question that rk could answer . he looked towards the direction they were heading - not with forlorn or any set of dread . Stoic - the mission at the moment , something him and Rk agreed on , wanting out - wanting to be normal. Hal would wait for RK: To repair himself , or admit needing help . Not that Hal was in any shape or form to even understand the issue , but maybe a second set of paws could help the situation . . .?

Re: TIME IS COME WHERE WE ALL FALL | PRIVATE - | RK515 | - 06-13-2019

regular text - "[glow=#212121,2,200]speaking[/glow]" -

Human emotions were complicated. This was a lesson that RK was quick to learn after he went through the training before finally being released to the police department. RK has received thousands of files into his databanks regarding what emotions were described as and how to deal with a human that were feeling such emotions. There were so many different types of emotions, that he questioned if there were more out there that he had ended up missing or that humanity itself had never discovered. Instead of having been tested to react to human volunteers expressing emotions, he was simply giving a guide and tutorial on what to do. This was one of the many reasons why he was not the best android to turn to emotionally as he just followed the procedures that were designated in his programming. The emotions that he had the most experience with was depression, anger, and fear. RK knew that he should not be destroyed as he was one of the many human achievements during recent years. But that didn't mean that he should not risk his life, no destruction, as he is not alive if a humans life is at risk. During their job, he was often met with fear when working with criminals. Most were quick to lay onto the ground rather than resist in his presence. When this cooperation is received, he knows not to attack and simply keep up the intimidation for the officers around him. He is able to analyze most humans emotions thanks to his database and monitor the heart rates of those that they arrest to assure easy detainment. He has memorized the beats per minute of a heart that designates panic and fear. In some instances, criminals will resist arrest and express anger and rage, which usually leads to the assailant taking out those emotions out on his body. He would rather have it be him than an officer that could actually feel the pain. Those that exhibited violent anger and rage were required to be subdued until further notice, and he followed these orders without hesitation.

This could sometimes mean that he needed to return to Cyberlife for repairs in case of damages to his outer shell. Those that expressed nonviolent anger were supposed to be placated or given space. This happens both in and out of the job that he was designated for. With suspects, this could mean they are refusing a direct order from a police officer. They would be given a couple more minutes to comply before it was his turn to take action, as with his job he was rarely used to placate suspects. Outside of his designated job, he has witnessed Hal become angry on multiple occasions. Whether it was becoming upset at something at a TV, or at a coworker, there were several instances of Hal expressing anger. Most of the time, RK was not required to take action, but if it got out of hand, then it would mean that he would step in to let Hal or whoever was a victim to his anger that they were out of line. This was fairly difficult as he was not capable of speaking the human language. Everything that determined human emotion could easily be explained by logic. Emotions were created into a human's brain, and because of this, he was given a crash course of human anatomy. He wasn't just used to attack criminals, as he could also be used for search and rescue, being able to track down audio signatures to their source. This also allowed him to be able to determine if a person could be saved based on their injuries. Even if they were fatal, RK would make sure to at least drag out the body as there were relatives that would appreciate having a corpse to bury. Everything could be explained by logic in this world, and this was the system that he was based on, logic, and no emotion. He was an empty shell that cooperation saw a chance to revolutionize technology, but never questioned whether or not it was ethical.

RK had no idea how Hal regarded him, and since he was an animal he couldn't possibly ask the lieutenant as if it was a regular occurrence. Part of his programming told him that it wasn't his business to know what the human thought of him as he was there to serve and nothing else. And yet, there were a couple of instances where he saw Hal show what is described as empathy for a machine such as him. RK had also noticed that Hal had never given him a name, which didn't really mean all that much as he was used to be called by his designation number or even the serial number that was burned onto his skull. He was able to listen into conversations on their way to the precinct, and hard owners calling their pets by specific names instead of numbers. It was simply more data to add to his collection and less of a desire for him to have. After all, he only had one design that was to serve the human race in protecting their streets and their species from destroying itself. His code was set in stone, and could not be altered unless by Cyberlife themselves, and they were no longer here. If they were here, he would be able to connect to the database whether or not he was in the middle of nowhere, opting to use a satellite signal instead. Maybe there were more components that were damaged that he did not know about, and that concerned him as he was used to constantly being in working order and constantly having a mechanic look over him while he was temporarily shut down, and when he woke up everything would be back to normal. Sometimes, he would seem to have a curious thought, but his code was quick to dismantle those thoughts and label them as errors before debugging his entire code for a couple of moments and those thoughts would no longer be present. After a while, RK believed that they were indeed errors in his coding to make him feel such ways, and regarded them as such. He didn't actually know what it was like to think for himself, and always followed his orders. During the time that he was built, deviancy was already considered to be a problem based on the media that depicted Earth being controlled by computer masterminds. Multiple firewalls and other coding was put into his programming to avoid this as much as possible and allowed his unit to self regulate when his mind started to deviate from that of a machine. Due to how many times it had happened in the past, RK had decided that thinking such things will lead to nowhere and will only stop the mission that they are currently conducting. Distractions.

Even as they walked, RK made sure to keep a close eye on how the Lieutenant was progressing in their search for any form of civilization. If he were to be asked what they would find out there, he wasn't quite sure he would be able to answer that question without more sufficient data. RK was nothing more than patient and would make sure to stay in a vigilant position as they moved through the forest that was steadily growing denser, making the surrounding area seem darker than it actually was. The android would protect his owner as long as he was alive, and if he no longer was alive, he wasn't sure what his programming would have him do then. Self Destruct? Shut Down? He didn't know his own fate, where it would lead him, what the end game for his creation meant. RK was smaller than the lieutenant, requiring him to take more steps, but that didn't exactly matter when the Saint Bernard was struggling with a simple trot. Thanks to his legs being made out of several different metal alloys, he did not have to worry about muscle fatigue like a regular animal. In emergency situations, he could last several days without any nutrition or hydration, but since he was not a complete android, he still required the basics when it came keeping his body from decaying from when it was dead. RK had read his own file that leads to his creation and memorized the steps that took and the different prototypes Cyberlife created before he was built and thrust out into the public. Either way, he knew that he needed to patch up his leg in case they were attacked by wild animals. He lost track of how many different videos that had browsed through dictating the potential animal threats they could come across in a field. They had once arrested a middle-aged man that had exotic animals held in cages that seemed adamant on keeping their owner around despite their horrible conditions. Several processes worked through his head as his right eye began to glow a soft yellow as he absorbed the information that was coming directly into his system. He just needed to connect the wire around and spin the wire around himself as he didn't have any adhesive or electric tape at his disposal. The electricity that sparked from his arm was also important to stop as it would drain his internal battery faster, and he could not afford to use emergency power in such a strange situation such as this. When he heard the Lieutenant stop and look toward him, and finally when he spoke, he wasn't all that surprised. In some cases when he had a part come out, the Lieutenant was given a small manual and guide that would help him in the repairs of the RK515 unit that would not require admittance into a Cyberlife facility. However, he did not believe that the former human would be entirely capable of fixing this issue. RK did not speak against the order that the Lieutenant gave him, opting to assume a proper posture and have his arm raised at a good enough eye level for Hal to inspect. There was no negative impact the previous action had on RK, as he was there to serve and follow orders no matter what. To him here, he was just following orders.

RK's right eye shifted from yellow to blue as he watched the saint bernard inspect his arm. For now, RK did not comment on the other's mechanical knowledge, knowing that the former detective did not have all that much. The android thought about warning the former human about the possibility of being shocked by his components, but it was far too late. The Eurasian timber wolf's body almost seemed to straighten itself slightly, but he did not flinch at the other's cry of pain. His eye swirled red for a second at the thought of injury that Hal could acquire from attempting to fix him, and his bi-colored eyes scanned over Hal again looking for any sign of injury. There was no smell of singed flesh or fur that he could detect. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Lieutenant Hal, maybe it would be beneficial for me to connect the wire as a means of you avoiding potential injury from the electrical components.[/glow]" RK would quickly say as his right eye slowly began to change color again back to blue, as the situation seemed to return back to being under control. The lupine's words seemed to fall on deaf ears as Hal began to work regardless of the comment that he made. Fixing any components with paws was almost impossible. Almost. He watched the concentration on Hal's face and seemed to pay attention to the emotions that were spread across his face of the canine, listing off the different emotions when they did pop up. One could almost say that he was intrigued. As soon as the wires were connected, a flash of yellow sparked from his right eye as the system responded to being fixed.

UPDATE

Component#302 Connected

Connection Reads.... Weak

Strong Impacts And Extensive Use Will Sever Connection

It would have to do for now. Once the connection was made and it seemed like Hal was done, RK would lift his arm and raw it closer to himself. The android would look over the work that the former police officer had done. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either. He probably would have been able to do the same in his current condition. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Component#302 connection reads true. This is a temporary fix as more repairs may be needed later. My programming states to see a Cyberlife Facility for future repairs.[/glow]" RK would read off of exactly what his programming was telling him, as machine as ever. He grabbed the metal plating that had covered the delicate wires and placed it over his leg. It seemed the metal plating was loose due to a loose screw, and he simply used his metal claws as a means to screw the parts back together, counting the number of turns that he did as a means not to strip the screw. Once he was done, he stood back up and tested the flexibility of his leg again, making the calculations in his head of what his leg should feel like. The silver and black wolf nodded to himself and looked over to Hal. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Thank you Lieutenant.[/glow]" In response to receiving any form of help, it was a default response in his programming to give. However, RK did pair it with what seemed like a smile that he couldn't quite get right, his metal teeth glinting in the small amount of sunlight that reached through the cracks in the leaves of the trees above them. The smile soon faded into an expressionless face that was common between both of them. There were a couple of moments where nothing seemed to be said, and the canine tilted his head slightly to the right. His right eye remained blue for the rest of their interaction, but his programming demanded that he gather as much information as possible and this could be considered to be curiosity in humans. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Lieutenant, what was it like being human?[/glow]"

Re: TIME IS COME WHERE WE ALL FALL | PRIVATE - Whisper - 06-16-2019

Being human was exhausting, hal unconsciously agreed. Being a cop - a detective, was so much worse. Having to face the worst that humanity has to offer - and do it constantly: Hal wasn’t an opportunist. Had never been one since the start - growing up he had been hopeful, but now it was creeping more attuned to nihilism. Not that - life was pointless, life had meaning it was what you made it out to be. Hal took the initiative to bring others to justice, to settle the score that others could not take to. For him it was easy - as easy as breathing: right and wrong were never really definates, but it was up to the society they lived in that made them - he caught criminals, put them in front of society to face their peers wraith. It was not his job to make the hard choices of good or bad, just enforce what choice was decided. There was one criminal he remembered, before RK came stumbling into his life - the words ; oh the chilling words - “[glow=white,2,300]there is no right or wrong, these choices are for the weak to decide, and the strong to either enforce it or break it as they please.[/glow]” It wasn’t his first case he worked on - it definitely wasn’t the last (considering he couldn’t even remember the ‘last’ case he had) yet, it was one he remembered. Would remember.

Hal was always considered as volatile - he knew it and never tried to hide it. Those that got close enough saw it, and the rest kept their own respectable - preferred distance. Hal didn’t need friends - didn’t need family: with good intentions and - “[glow=white,2,300]we just want to help hal-[/glow]” No, the Saint Bernard didn’t need ‘help’ after… after coals death - he just wanted peace, peace to settle back into life to come back to himself. He wasn’t an object to be prodded and pushed at - he lived his life - his way. Maybe it was the reason that Hal was so quick to panic - fear in the given situation. Volatile towards RK now - because the control - his life was taken from him. would get taken from him, he expected it - living at home under someone’s heels or only surviving in the wild. Hal didn’t know how to hunt or even kill for his own food. Saint bernards were winter-esce dogs , they were not made for these climates - he was not fit in this situation at all, and it showed with his reactions. Hal flickered between panic- fear, docile- calm. Hal was a wreck of a human and a mess in a dog, a kind that settled in between the two now. Both and yet neither.

RK and hal made the perfect pair now - did before too. RK was a wolf without instinct and only logic - Hal now a saint Bernard was brimming with emotions and instinct. Rk was his guide to the animal world, and it seemed hal was the guide, handler of the human one. Hal was tense with nerves too - unaware what kind of civilization would take them in - would accept to beings in between and yet not - animals. Even before RK was smart- smarter than the normal wolf or common dog, he was a valued companion on the job, and even past the small hiccup hal made from becoming human to dog did little to erase the trust he implicitly had in the RK. It was easy to trust Rk, he was programmed to work on the field - to be subjective where Hal could not be. It filtered differently now, the subtle thing that took hold of his mind made panic into something worse - made hal into something dangerous - urged him to trust, Hal was not helpless to this instinct - because that is what it was - but he didn’t feel the need to reject it either.

When he offered to help RK, it was with earnest intentions, a secret apology that hal would never voice. RK was not equipped with any emotions to draw from - to sympathise with hal, and he lashed out at him for it, Rk didn’t have emotions as far as he could tell. But he had his own thoughts, his own favorites (in efficiency) and dislikes (hal indulging in toxic behaviors) Reckless in his own right and helpful in almost all cases that they worked together. So yes, hal wanted to pass that help along - in a silent way apologize for his outburst and panic. When he went to help it was with knowing he could get zapped or hurt - like becoming a detective came with the opportunity to die on the job or case. But he didn’t get shocked - if it was either RK’s low electricity output or SOmething of Hal’s paws having less nerves to register the pain of it - it didn’t hurt in the slightest. A slight jolt - of something and then nothing at all. It was new - it was odd, and Hal let out a low huff at RK’s comment for safety -since when has hal ever acted safely?

Hal had yet to step away from the close proximity, yet when Rk took a step back to test his reflexes hal did as well. Moving back a few inches before nodding along to the explanation. The gratitude left him floundering, a soft grunt from the larger dog’s mouth in acknowledgement- a positive lilt to his own maw at the smile - awkward and menacing in the jaws of a wolf - but not from Rk, not from pack. “...” Hal too was seeming at a lost for words, letting the silence pass without comment for a moment longer until RK’s words caught his attention once more - “[glow=#add8e6,2,300]what is it like being human?[/glow]” it caught his attention - snapping back into the bi-colored gaze of his companion. blue stable, safe - Hal never really thought much of the color combination beside blue was safe. Yellow was processing and red was [glow=#480000,2,300]error[/glow]

"[glow=#212121,2,300]It's not something you can really explain i guess.[/glow]" Hal muttered - to quick. How do you explain it - to feel - the instinct of wants and needs? "[glow=#212121,2,300]It's actually not much different from how you are now RK , being human is something you learn to do - and right now : you're still learning .[/glow]" There was no right way to explain it, no real way to explain something natural to him. But RK was a machine, a learning one. He made expressions and had opinions - all that was really missing - as far as hal could tell was feeling. Maybe, that came after learning enough. " [glow=#212121,2,300]It's like, how you picked for us to go north . there was no logic in that decision since you could not access a GPS or other way to guide us - you picked north because it was your preference. Does that make sense?[/glow]"
