[font=trebuchet ms]What was a border patrol, really, but wandering around and observing nature? The only real difference was that you had something to keep an eye out for, that being other animals. Hunting was a bit more complicated because you also had to keep yourself hidden; Straw did this more rarely, since she could survive on plants alone, but knowing how to catch a bird was useful from time to time.
Patrolling with a group was a little different, but not too much. A hunting patrol, or a partial hunting patrol, would by necessity be low on small talk. Besides, Tena was alright, as far as Straw could tell from their previous encounters. Peering down from a nearby tree, the red panda nodded; that was all that needed to be said.
