This was not the first time something like this had happened. There had been the bear, the vampire, the odd memory wipes, reincarnation, and a whole slew of other things. But somehow, fate always reunited them. Fate had a strange and terrifying way of sorting through things. Be that as it may, Suiteheart was grateful for the endless chances she and her wife received. Someone or something was looking out for them, and she hoped that someone would continue to let them find each other in this life and the next. ”I’m so fucking thankful for these chances, love,” Suite did say with a nod. Perhaps she and Margaery were the lucky ones even if neither truly felt that way.
Upon hearing her partner’s next words, she nodded again. She did need to learn to start taking better care of herself, but that was a hard task. She would rather make sure everyone else was okay, but she knew if she exhausted herself, she would be of no use. Suite needed to learn to take time, yet her impatience always got the better of her. ”I know, and I’ll try.” She would. She’d try damn hard. ”You are my world. You and the kids.”
The feline listened as Margaery continued speaking, and in truth, she could not agree more. She wanted to find them as soon as possible. It already felt like she had been lifetimes away from them. She missed them. Dearly. And she knew Margaery did too. ”I’m ready when you are. And I know I said they had each other, but I - ... Even if they’ve grown up, they’re still kids. They need us just as much as we need them.”
While Margaery had been motherless, Suite could not entirely relate. She had had a mother. Not a good one, but a mother nonetheless. Some part of her grew angry at this thought, for the last thing she wanted to do was turn into her mother. Despite all the wishing, it seemed she was doing just that by not being there for her children. That thought made her stomach knot up; she didn’t want to be a bad mother.
The next words hurt though it was not surprising. Each was trying to lay low and being seen together could extinguish that hope. Still, she frowned. ”You’re right, but... Damn. Now I have to get you to fall in love with me all over again. It was a wonder it even happened the first time.” And now she was grinning that lopsided smile of hers, trying to bring humor into their dim situation.
