IT'S GOOD TO MEET YOU, MY CRIME AND PUNISHMENT !
Considering Akuma had been far too lethargic to even notice Jiyu as soon as he had came outside, it wasn't entirely out of the realm of possibility to consider that Akuma was simply terrible at checking his surroundings. He had been a lad late in approaching Riku anyhow as he was still shrugging off the sleepiness that heavily clouded his mind like an poisonous miasma. Not to mention... his attention had been fully on Riku so it was undoubtedly an surprise for the hybrid when he was suddenly scooped up into the air by God-knows what. When inquired about the possibilities of where they could go exploring for the day, he takes a moment to think. His head tips slightly to the side, his gaze flickering upwards towards the heavens for a second. "Well... I was thinking of—" Before he could get what he wanted to say out, all of his breath was taken out of him as an blurry form suddenly comes into his peripherals and snatched him up— quite literally.
Of course, any sane person would probably squirm and flail about wildly in the arms of the person who had unexpectedly grabbed them but considering that he was now several feet up in the air, Akuma didn't necessarily feel like falling to his death. So he stares wide-eyed at the feline-dragon hybrid with a mixed ( and admittedly rather comical ) expression of surprise and horror, his mouth an inch agape as she speaks to him in an... very familiar voice. He has to blink once and then twice, three times to charm and Akuma's mind goes absolutely blank for a moment before everything comes back at once. By this time, this "stranger" was lowering him back onto the ground with her paw laid across his own. The entire time he never let his eyes drift from Jiyu, not for a single second, until he dumbly remembers he had to speak.
"Jiyu?" Akuma says, fictive brows furrowing against his forehead. This was... It had to be, right? He hadn't seen her in so long it felt like... decades since he gazed upon his sister and yet he doesn't quite know how to feel. He was startled, that was for sure, as told by how his fur stood on end and the slight look of dumbfoundedness that was so rarely placed onto the Chain's face. But of course, with all of the emotions that were plenty clear on Akuma's face, recognition did twinkle brilliantly in his golden gaze. She looks so different... She looked almost reptilian-like. It was ironic, considering his past reincarnation was something similar.
"You look... so different..." It was all he could muster, really. What else was he supposed to say or do? He was in too much shock to do much of anything and his dumb fever was preventing him from strategically processing his next move. He only hopes this wasn't some cruel dream or something similar.
