[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 9.5pt; line-height: 1.4;letter-spacing:.1px"]They'd had several kids show up at Sunhaven over the course of Steve's stay. Some of them were looking for their parents -looking for someone- while others seemed entirely unconcerned with where they might be, likely because they either knew or didn't know them to care. Steve's father had died when he was too young to remember him, but he was fortunate to have his mother- he knew that. So many children didn't have anyone to look after them, and some got to the point where they'd grown years beyond their physical age in order to survive. He was certain some of them could take care of themselves better than Steve could, who could catch just about any kind of sickness out there and was too stubborn to properly rest half the time.

He supposed he should be glad that the kids showed up here, at least; it meant they weren't alone, that they had an opportunity to be children again.

None of them really carried a sword, though. That was definitely new. "We would never turn you away," the small feline asserted with a small smile, nodding to the kitsune. "I'm Steve. You need any help getting settled?"

ALWAYS BELIEVED I WAS FREE, THAT I HAD SOME SENSE OF INTEGRITY THAT WOULD RISE ABOVE WHATEVER TRIED TO CHANGE ME. ——— [color=black]INFORMATION/TAGS [color=transparent]———
