It was just kind of boring to her to sit down with a book when she could be out there doing something more exciting and fun. Others seemed to really like it though, but she never understood the appeal. Maybe if she found a story that she really enjoyed she could get behind reading, but she never was able to find anything that kept her interest for longer than a couple of pages.
Even though she wasn't much of a reader herself, she knew better than to interrupt someone while they were reading so at first she hadn't even bothered approaching Leigh - until August had. The kid seemed curious about that book that the older male had stuck his nose in, and while Bex wasn't interested in the book, she was interested in the conversation. "Is it some kind of adventure story or something?" What books were people even interested in, anyways? Hopefully nothing extremely boring like any sort of non-fiction. If Bex had to be forced to read anything, it would have to be some sort of fictional fantasy or adventure novel. Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to make it through the first page.
