life's extension lottery ★★★ reading - Leigh - 12-06-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: times new roman;"]♡ — It had taken a lot of digging around for Leigh to have acquired the little books he had in his possession. Before the fire in Snowbound burned everything to the ground, he had plenty more— a whole library in his cabin. It hurt to know that he had been unable— forced— to leave it all behind in order to save his own life. Is your life really worth it? He should be able to say yes, but he falters and doesn't come up with a conclusion. Instead he ignores the nagging, finds a fresh patch of snow and nestles himself in the fluff. It's chilly and sends shivers up his spine; reminds him of home. From the tattered satchel slung over his back, he procures a small book on flora, pops it open, and immediately buries his muzzle in it. He's read it three times already but he'd never get tired of it. It's the gardening nut in him. Nature is all he needs. Loser.

Re: life's extension lottery ★★★ reading - AUGUST - 12-06-2018

August used to be quite the reader. Well, that is if reading bedtime stories with mom counted for that. He seldom read books on his own, let alone novels, but he was literate and was able to decipher most basic words. His penmanship was another story, but he was also able to write a little bit, nonetheless. Reading was a wonderful activity, seeing as it expanded your mind and stretched your imagination beyond worlds. He could be a pirate on the ocean in one book, and travel the world as an adventurer in the next. He quite enjoyed books, but as of late, he hadn't had much time for them. There was too much else to do, from cleaning up the town to settling into his new rank as spark to just meeting new people and getting to know Sunhaven in general.

However, when he had stumbled across a vaguely familiar individual sticking his nose into a book, he couldn't help but grow curious. He tended to be soft-spoken around adults he didn't know, especially when they were minding their own business, but he wouldn't mind right? There was only one way to find out. [glow=black,1,400]"Excuse me?"[/glow]

August slightly cocked his head, taking a few steps closer. His gaze glanced down from the cover of the book and up to the reader, [glow=black,1,400]"What is that you're reading?"[/glow]

SUNHAVEN — GOLDENBLOOD — PLAYED BY KICKSIE !

[div style="text-align: justify; width: 50%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 11pt; letter-spacing: -1px; margin-top: 0px; background-color: white; padding: 6px; color:black;"]Bex had never been big on reading, unless you counted skimming through magazines as reading. It was just kind of boring to her to sit down with a book when she could be out there doing something more exciting and fun. Others seemed to really like it though, but she never understood the appeal. Maybe if she found a story that she really enjoyed she could get behind reading, but she never was able to find anything that kept her interest for longer than a couple of pages.

Even though she wasn't much of a reader herself, she knew better than to interrupt someone while they were reading so at first she hadn't even bothered approaching Leigh - until August had. The kid seemed curious about that book that the older male had stuck his nose in, and while Bex wasn't interested in the book, she was interested in the conversation. "Is it some kind of adventure story or something?" What books were people even interested in, anyways? Hopefully nothing extremely boring like any sort of non-fiction. If Bex had to be forced to read anything, it would have to be some sort of fictional fantasy or adventure novel. Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to make it through the first page.

[align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: times new roman;"]♡ — Books were usually a hit or miss with people. They either liked them or preferred something other than paper. He wasn't too surprised to see August and Bex approaching, more or less interested in his read. With a beam of pearly whites, he shuffled his lanky body over to give the two a better look at the book. "Prepare to be disappointed!" he announced. "It's a book on flora. Y'know, nature and sh-" Child. Abort. "...ssssssshhhorts." NAILED IT. He cleared his throat immediatly to avoid too much notice to his slip up. "It's like- uh- for gardening and stuff. Tells you about what kinds of stuff can go where and under what conditions. Like- plants can grow anywhere how cool is that!? There's even neat little factoids under the pictures and- um- uh- yeah-" Rambling. He cut himself off of what would have been a gush over some of his favorite plants, smiling awkwardly to the two as a soft red flush rose to his face.
