[div style="margin: 0 auto; border-width:0; width: 70%; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; line-height: 1.5; font-size: 9pt;"]Elijah's reason for being awake was different to Stella's. While his sister was a light sleeper, awoken by the ruckus caused by the Head Officer, the boy was awake on purpose. He was trying to see if he could catch fairies outside, sneaking around the rainforest and finding toadstools. He would lie down perched, eyeing the glisten of their smooth surfaces, waiting for the glow of a mythical creature to appear. Bottom wriggling in the air, he dares not to make a breath louder than the wind, narrowing his semi-illuminated eyes. After a while, he feels himself giving up. The child stands back up onto all fours, sighing to himself before beginning to walk back. His gaze only just narrowly misses the look of claw marks, head suddenly thudding. A werewolf? While a child Elijah's age should have turned around and started running, perhaps even crying, a glimmer of radiating excitement shot through his body. His eyes twinkled, the child immediately following the trail of beaten up trees, sniffing about as if he were a miniature hound. His tail wagged behind him, following sign after sign until he sees the stark whiteness of Stella's cloak. He feels his heart stop for a moment. What if Stella was in danger? What if she too had been following the werewolf tracks?
He nibbles his bottom lip, anxious when he approaches to see a brightly coloured savannah, baring his teeth at his sister. His fur bristles but he refuses to let his sense of fear get in the way with his foolish, childish bravery. He can't hear what Stella or Caesar are saying, looking at the poor mauled rabbit and feeling a painful pang in his heart. He claimed himself to be a warlock so he had to prove himself, he was determined to prove himself. With the bravest face he can muster, he steps in front of his sister. "Away foul beast!" the child squeaks, ears flattening against his cranium, "I won't let you hurt any more nature or rabbits!" He doesn't know it yet but Elijah has a spiritual connection to all pests being the demidemon of infestation. He felt a strange love for keeping rabbits and insects safe that looking at the poor rodent made his insides squirm with a sense of injustice. "Otherwise you'll have to go through me."
