//I have the urge to give Sekai a hug
No. He didn’t want her to fix it. He didn’t want her to touch his toy... not now.
But, her apology did not fall on deaf ears. Whatever was happening... whatever had made her behave this way... it seemed to have faded. At least for now. The lion slowly untucked his paws from over his ears and gazed up at his sister. Yes, he was larger than Sekai but anyone who saw them now might think he was cowering before her.
I just wanted you to stop being foolish and trusting everyone. She’d answered his question. Why? Because Valemon was foolish. Too trusting.
He tried, he really did. But every attempt to look at the world from a cold, calculating vantage point only made him scared. Val didn’t like living as if he were walking on glass, questioning every individual’s motives, always looking behind to see what might be coming to kill him. So, why not make things fun and light? Perhaps it was narrow minded searching for what little good might be in those he met. Maybe his obliviousness would someday be the death of him. At least he wouldn’t be constantly on edge. At least he wouldn’t have a distant attitude and no friends.
But, was this philosophy wrong? Apparently Sekai thought so. “‘s bad? I ‘m bad?” If this was the lesson, Valemon would try and understand.
