cold and unnerved venus woke up in a fright to the sounds of the outside world ruthlessly abusing the windows of their lab, gusts mustering up strength to cause a clatter that rang throughout the entirety of sunhaven. venus shuddered in the sudden chill that ran down their spine. craning over their shoulder, arms still waking up and sprawled on the desk, sapphire gaze caught sight of the chaos erupting outside with a perturbed visage. mother nature wasn't so happy today was she? as the kitsune slowly arose from their chair, wood creaking underneath weight now adding to the pressure building upon the building's very foundations, venus walked over towards the windowsill. it was like a tragedy ripped straight from a romantic novella, the brutality of the winds ripping plant from root and upturning some of venus' crops - something the kitsune couldn't help but frown at. all that time and effort, gone. venus detested the weather's fickle nature.
gathering the strength and courage to step outside and inspect the extent to which nature decided to wreck havoc among the residents of sunhaven, venus was surprised to see so many already doing the exact same thing. had venus woken up much later than everyone else? it wouldn't surprised the teen terrible much - they were a pretty heavy sleeper. never the less, venus swiftly huddled their body into a ball and ran comically towards the quartet already gathered and trying valiantly to save whatever the wind decided to rip apart with debatable success. "what are you guys talking about? huh? i thought it was absolutely lovely weather we are having here, couldn't tell we weren't in the bahamas." biting through the pellets of rain assaulting their face like mini bullets from hell, venus let good-natured sarcasm seep into their words.
eyeing up the rising water levels, venus recoiled at the thought of the water rising to level which would eventually breach their humble abode and drown every book in venus' possession. it wasn't anything grand, venus already had to start from scratch after leaving tanglewood, but it would be heart-wrenching to have to start again, again. frivolous, venus feared losing hope that they would ever be able to have something so trivial such as a stable home. "this water.. it has to go somewhere, we should be prepping our homes for a flash flood. and our crops, if they're not already torn to shreds." benefits of such a low lying town were about to be flipped on its head, become the haveners' worst nightmares.
