It's a voice that startles away the mellow peace Izuku feels. The green-furred maine coon lets out a strange strangled sound as his fur fluffs up. The feline whips around to see the stranger, and finds himself face to face with a leopard. He feels a flash of panic at seeing the large, round face of the stranger. He hadn't been paying attention, he was so dead, oh god --
It's not until the feline hisses in panic and scrabbles away that the words the leopard had spoken sank in. And then -- right, she doesn't look like she's trying to be a threat. Izuku blinks dumbly up at the stranger, a new marigold stalk between his teeth. And then he gently drops it, so he can speak. The little flower lands harmlessly on the ground, and Izuku manages a smile, feeling a little shaken by the sudden appearance of the leopard. It's not her fault he's so easily startled, of course, Izuku is just so -- paranoid. A flash of guilt.
"S-Sorry!" Izuku squeaks out, seeming a little embarrassed by his outburst. Some of him is still wary, of course, but it's just like -- meeting anyone else, of course. There's real, nice people out there, and he shouldn't let any bad experiences stop him from interacting with others.
"U-Um -- that kind of depends on what you considered 'lost', really," The feline smiles glumly, and his gaze slides to the side. He's sitting like a normal cat now, seeming quiet and sheepish and calm despite the nervous twitching of his tail. It's a long few moments before he speaks again, gaze returning back to Amunet, eyes uneasy yet earnest. "I - I mean, I'm not where I'd like to be, but I can't .. go back home." He offers first, gaze flickering away momentarily. He's swallowing back a long tangent going off on something or another that was probably entirely useless. It's harder than he thought -- rambling aimlessly had always provided him some sort of meager comfort, but strangers always reacted so negatively. The reminder gives him a flash of anxiety, remembering quite a lot of incidents. "I-I mean ... I did get separated from my friend, though. I dont -- I wandered off and I - I haven't been able to find him for a few days now," Izuku isn't sure why he's spilling so many little details about his life. They weren't major, of course, and ... it was kind of something he'd done to his old clanmates when he encountered them, but he doesn't exactly have anything in common with this leopard. Aside from the scent clinging to the other's fur -- she's from a clan of some sort, he's sure. The idea provides him some comfort, at least. Rogues had always been a bit of a wildcard, but clan people always tended to be kind to strangers.
"Wh -- Who are you? Where are you from?" A little frown pulls on Izuku's maw, but it vanishes after a few moments, and he manages to urge a new, soft smile back onto his face. It doesn't provide him with much comfort. Another moment. "I'm ... Izuku. Izuku Midoriya." The feline adds after a long few moments, swallowing hard. It's kind of funny, introducing himself the western way again. He'd spent so long with Todoroki that he'd just kind of ... forgotten about it until he was speaking 'English' again.
