He knew this was a bad idea. Bad idea bad idea bad idea -- He'd gotten separated from Todoroki, Fiontan, whatever -- that wasn't the plan. He was bleeding and he was hurting, and he was just so far from home. Why'd he let Todoroki convince him to leave the Thunderlands? He'd been -- it'd been good there. Now his quirk wasn't working properly, and he was alone, and he was scared. His pelt was bristling as he slinks along the brambles, ears pricked for signs of movement. At least when he'd had company he hadn't subject to the same overwhelming paranoia, the terror of every stranger he came across. Not all of them hurt him -- but there was a reason he was so wary on his own. His side prickles with pain as his gaze slides across the field. He hovers next to the treeline for a long few moments, feeling hesitant over being so exposed. But there were so many flowers, it was so ... pretty. He can see sunflowers standing tall, uncountable numbers of little red and white wildflowers. If that wasn't enough to bring him out of survival mode, the marigolds certainly were -- Izuku's first aid was almost out, and the chance to restock on basic flower herbs was just too tempting. A long hesitation, and Izuku steps from the cover of the treeline, and strides into the field. The grass covers him fairly well -- it doesn't provide him with quite the same reassurance as the forest, familiar and comforting. It wasn't a redwood, but it reminded him of the Thunderlands regardless -- he didn't have any real attachment to the people, but he'd become well acquainted with the forest, felt safe under the trees. But tall grass -- wasn't a bad second. Still, the little maine coon is shaking as he stops to gently sniff at a marigold. It soothes his nerves a little, and he grins uneasily as he pulls the flower from its stem. Then he tucks it behind his ear -- flowers are pretty, and it felt nice to wear one. Plus it'd probably get smushed in his bag, and that was no good. He'd have to grind these things into ointment later, thanks. ☀☀☀ Re: one step deep ☀ private - COSMIIX - 04-13-2018 She needed to get away but, she was unable to now. Beck had promoted her to the stepping stone of possible promotions, she thought of how she could use that as a form of distraction for herself. How she could use that promotion to distract herself from reality and her loss, she would busy herself with work to prove herself to the clan that the loss of some crush wasn't going to crush her. She was strong and she had survived without her ex-husband so she was certain that getting over some "tiny" crush wouldn't prove any difficult. Just the memory of her begging her former husband to stay with her made her feel low about herself, she shakes her head trying not to distract herself with those thoughts. She felt better when she wasn't stuck in a swamp anymore but her paws were being lightly tickled by blades of grass, she felt happier and well, she felt bad that she hadn't brought Moses along. Even if she was out for just a walk, she wore her dark cloak not really wanting to bring attention to herself at the time. What she wasn't expecting was to see someone else there picking away at some marigold, she realized that they were a bit injured and pretty young looking. The jaguaress slowly approached with a smile hidden underneath the cloak of hers, the spotted exotic would blink her lovely amber eyes at the oddly furred tomcat since she wasn't so accustomed to seeing green pelted felines. "Hello. Are you lost, darling?" She asked in a gentle voice angling her curved ears forward waiting for a response from the stranger.

It's a voice that startles away the mellow peace Izuku feels. The green-furred maine coon lets out a strange strangled sound as his fur fluffs up. The feline whips around to see the stranger, and finds himself face to face with a leopard. He feels a flash of panic at seeing the large, round face of the stranger. He hadn't been paying attention, he was so dead, oh god -- It's not until the feline hisses in panic and scrabbles away that the words the leopard had spoken sank in. And then -- right, she doesn't look like she's trying to be a threat. Izuku blinks dumbly up at the stranger, a new marigold stalk between his teeth. And then he gently drops it, so he can speak. The little flower lands harmlessly on the ground, and Izuku manages a smile, feeling a little shaken by the sudden appearance of the leopard. It's not her fault he's so easily startled, of course, Izuku is just so -- paranoid. A flash of guilt. "S-Sorry!" Izuku squeaks out, seeming a little embarrassed by his outburst. Some of him is still wary, of course, but it's just like -- meeting anyone else, of course. There's real, nice people out there, and he shouldn't let any bad experiences stop him from interacting with others. "U-Um -- that kind of depends on what you considered 'lost', really," The feline smiles glumly, and his gaze slides to the side. He's sitting like a normal cat now, seeming quiet and sheepish and calm despite the nervous twitching of his tail. It's a long few moments before he speaks again, gaze returning back to Amunet, eyes uneasy yet earnest. "I - I mean, I'm not where I'd like to be, but I can't .. go back home." He offers first, gaze flickering away momentarily. He's swallowing back a long tangent going off on something or another that was probably entirely useless. It's harder than he thought -- rambling aimlessly had always provided him some sort of meager comfort, but strangers always reacted so negatively. The reminder gives him a flash of anxiety, remembering quite a lot of incidents. "I-I mean ... I did get separated from my friend, though. I dont -- I wandered off and I - I haven't been able to find him for a few days now," Izuku isn't sure why he's spilling so many little details about his life. They weren't major, of course, and ... it was kind of something he'd done to his old clanmates when he encountered them, but he doesn't exactly have anything in common with this leopard. Aside from the scent clinging to the other's fur -- she's from a clan of some sort, he's sure. The idea provides him some comfort, at least. Rogues had always been a bit of a wildcard, but clan people always tended to be kind to strangers. "Wh -- Who are you? Where are you from?" A little frown pulls on Izuku's maw, but it vanishes after a few moments, and he manages to urge a new, soft smile back onto his face. It doesn't provide him with much comfort. Another moment. "I'm ... Izuku. Izuku Midoriya." The feline adds after a long few moments, swallowing hard. It's kind of funny, introducing himself the western way again. He'd spent so long with Todoroki that he'd just kind of ... forgotten about it until he was speaking 'English' again. ☀☀☀ Re: one step deep ☀ private - COSMIIX - 04-21-2018 [align=center][align=center] a [div style="text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 30px; font-family: GEORGIA; color: #34495E; text-align: left; letter-spacing: -2px; line-height: 95%; width: 420px"]amunet ghana Re: one step deep ☀ private - arcy - 04-21-2018
The mismatching appearance was a little curious, in Izuku's own opinion. It'd been hard to see under the cloak(he's surprised by how unconcerned he'd been about it), but the dual color reminds him ... a little too much of Todoroki, in all honesty. Split down the middle? Heterochromia? Perfectly matching. That was kind of sad in itself. "Is it?" A somewhat puzzled expression passes over Izuku's face. Part of him frets that she's being sarcastic, but surely not? She'd seemed nice enough, and Izuku had done his best to get his point across. It's not like you could really be lost when you were kind of a nomad, anyways. The only thing he was attached to was Todoroki himself, and wow, look how that ended up. Still, he smiles a little softly at her, though his tail is still twitching, restlessly nervous as ever. "Nice to meet you, Amunet," Izuku says softly, a little part of him finding further comfort in not only the soft rumble of the big cat's purr, but also her tone. So far, it's been a rather nice interaction, barring Izuku's rambling attempts at speech just moments earlier. He, again, had a rambling habit, but even his attempts at not rambling just involved a little less rambling. Unfortunate. Even so, even Izuku can sense the slight drop in mood after Amunet introduces herself. Izuku doesn't notice enough to be concerned, but even so, the green-furred feline does tip his head the slightest, until Amunet speaks again. "Ah, I hope so too ..." Izuku says softly, sighing. He missed Todoroki already. Given, it had been a little while since they were separated, so he did have the right. "I'm not all that good on surviving on my own. I can hold but own just fine, don't worry, but honestly, I'm only here because he persuaded me to leave my old group," Izuku snorts softly, spreading one wing open a little incredulously, softly shaking his head all the while.. Despite the underlying nervosity that was so typical of Izuku, their interaction feels ... almost serene to Izuku, calming in a way. He can't pinpoint why, exactly. Maybe it's her demeanor, or just her word choice. ☀☀☀ |
