[div style="margin: 0 auto; border-width:0; width: 70%; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 9pt;"]For once, he doesn't flinch when he is sheltered by Luciferus' large penumbra. He is met with the feeling of indifference, dull eyes not daring to flicker towards the figure he knew to be the Officer. It was a waste of energy, he thinks, to raise his head and gaze at the male's ebony form, the overarching blackness that defined the ancient being. Sometimes it was a surprise to know that the two were related considering the male was so collected while Luca had the tendency to appear so weak. The key word in his thoughts was appear. He doesn't quite understand the correlation between Luca and the beast other than the fact that he had been brutally injured last time, nose scrunching at the memory. He reminds himself not to let his mind wander to the time. Sometimes he can imagine his own fibres tearing apart, the pop as his bones left their sockets. His fur bristles uncomfortably, his mouth feels dry. He can feel the coming of a headache, slowly drawing itself towards his temples as if it were metal attracted to a magnet. An uncomfortable sense of brooding lurks and crawls towards him.
The first sign of it should have been the tiny figure of CCLIV. He didn't expect the child to be there but there they were scurrying towards the demon, attempting to climb the demon as if he were a tree. His ear flicks. Bakugou doesn't feel any need to protect the young feline but he has a feeling they will get into trouble for attempting to lick the horns on Luca's head. Then it was Technopaw, as small as the rest as she too tried to scale Luca. He didn't understand why the other Reaver was getting so much attention simply for a pair of horns. Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. Just when Bakugou thought two was overwhelming enough, their neighborhood ghost appeared. Beck, like the ones before, leaned in to lick. He tried not to gag knowing that everyone seemed to be so interested in licking Luca's horns, too fixated in being disgusted that he didn't realise how claustrophobic the demon was becoming. He didn't even hear the male's initial confusion about Bakugou's comment, distracted.
No, it was the cry that brought him back. He awoke with a snap, eyes widening slightly. His own fire elementals caused his skin to heat up, sensing the stress and the sudden movement of Masie. He felt no impulse to move and try and save them. There was no time, he wouldn't be able to do it. He was too far away from Luca and his fire wouldn't be able to do anything, his earth elementals were slow to act up and his teleportation... to be honest, he hadn't thought of his teleportation, but the reaction had already happened and he was still standing uselessly there. His eyes waver towards Technopaw's meek form, hearing her apology but not thinking much about it. "Just...look at a mirror or something," he finally says, shifting back to the previous topic. His indifference towards Luca's panic was bothering him, he was desperate to go back onto something less intense. He felt awfully disconnected with the events in front of him, unsettled with his own mind and feelings - the unnatural calmness that was embodying him. "Or put a paw on top of your head. They were licking your horns. Don't know why - gross."
