[align=center][div style="width:60%;font-family:arial;font-size:11px;text-align:justify;line-height:130%;word-spacing:-0.5px;letter-spacing:0.5px;"]Ren wasn't expecting company. At least, not this far out from where individuals usual frequent. He forced himself to hold back the growl that threatened to rumble in his throat as the bright golden wheat parted and swayed, indicating someone was approaching. Due to the straight path they were on towards him, he could deduce they intended to say hello. The opposite of what Ren needed right now. He escaped to here to be alone with his thoughts, not to be accompanied by anyone. He didn't see any familiar pink petals fluttering in the wind so it was safe to say the creature wasn't Delilah. The thought of her made him feel a tad better, imagining the pastel maine coon gingerly poking her head out of the stems as magenta pools shone brightly at him. Her pink fur and the golden colour of the wheat, though both soft colours, would contrast each other in a way that would almost work. Ruling out Delilah, he didn't hear heavy paw steps and the way the wheat was gently pushed out the way indicated a smaller frame rather than the large build of Zimavich. Ren would like to think he would enjoy having conversations with the bear. He hasn't seen him around in a while and was starting to wonder if he was doing alright. He would love to spar with him one day when he has everything mostly figured out about himself. With Zima, Ren felt the pressure of him dropping his guard and not having to filter himself be lifted off his shoulders. Reason being, if he were to step out of line, he knew Zima had the power the suplex him and put him back in his lane.
He couldn't help the amused exhale through his nostrils at the thought.
It wasn't either of the two he wanted to see which left him feeling uneasy. He didn't trust himself to be alone with another individual, far from watchful eyes or listening ears. His annoyance ebbed into fear as he carefully watched with narrowed dark red eyes at the parting stems. A few seconds later, red orbs met with their blue counterpart as Ophelia appeared seemingly out of nothing. This led with a nervous twitch of his short tail, though he straightened his posture upon her arrival. "Ophelia," he greeted her, dipping his head politely. As she continued, he noticeably stiffened at her observation and awkwardly shifted his gaze to look elsewhere. "I-I do?" Her assumption was correct, but what caught him off-guard was the accuracy in such a small amount of time. As she spoke, Ren couldn't bring himself to look at her, knowing his poker face wasn't ready just yet. Around the time she finished was when he managed to collect himself and shove his thoughts back into the closet. He returned his gaze back to her before looking down at the mouse at his paws. He wasn't hungry. He didn't get hungry. At least, not anymore. Her sharing her food with him was pointless... Redundant... Unnecessary... "Oh, u-um," he was at a loss for words. Kindness wasn't something the demon was used to, nor was he used to the feeling it sparked within him. Although her sharing food with him was senseless as far as chasing away hunger went, the thought of her noticing he was troubled and was willing to lend an ear made the walls around his heart and conscious teeter.
Recollecting himself, he continued, genuinely touched by her actions though no smile surfaced. "Thank you for the kind gesture." How can such a wonderful person exist? Please stop... I don't deserve your kindness. Your thoughtfulness is wasted on me. He thought as he dipped his head once more in a gracious manner. "I am... Still trying to understand some things... Come to terms with a few others. I would rather not speak about them." He spoke, deep tone slow and careful as to not accidentally give anything away. Surely Ophelia would resent him if he were to say anything about what was going through his mind. Delilah too. Delilah was the reason he was here in the first place- he didn't want her to end up hating him. Although he didn't feel much for the black feline, she still was pleasant company. He didn't wish to upset her either. There was a small pause before Ren continued, a welcoming flick of his ear. "Would you... Perhaps like to join me? Th-that is, if you are not busy. I do not want to inconvenience you more than I already have."
