The persistent ringing of the bell had disturbed the jackal from his meditation (well, perhaps "nap" was the more accurate term, but he'd never say so aloud), drawing him groggily out from under the trees and towards the beach. While the ringing was nowhere near as bad as Georgie's yelling had been, it was still rather obnoxious to hear it over and over and over again. As he arrived on the scene and realized that the person ringing the bell was someone he had never seen before, he stifled a groan- why did everyone seem to enjoy wandering onto the territory and doing whatever they pleased?
Papercutter opened his mouth to call out to the strange creature, but was interrupted by the hissing of a mamba. Before he could say anything, the snake had struck, sinking its fangs into the other creature's paw. With a growl, he hurried over to the newcomer's side, fixing his eyes on the wound. Jor was going to fetch someone, so that left him to... well, administer first aid as much as he could. At least he had seen snake poison being treated before. With an exasperated sigh, he muttered to himself, "It should be yarrow... don't know where that is, though."
Looking back up at the fish-esque creature, the jackal ordered, "Stay here, and stay calm. The slower your bloodflow, the slower the poison will spread. I'm gonna go look for something to draw the venom out until help arrives." With that, the canine turned and hurried into the forest, eyes steadily sweeping the area for the herbs in question.
