It was hard for her to sit still, to spend her waking hours doing nothing more than lazing about. She liked to be on the move, learning what she could and building up her abilities until she was certain they wouldn't fail her. That was why, among other reasons, she was so stressed about her broken wing. This wasn't supposed to happen to her; she'd worked hard to try to prevent something like this, and it was for nothing. It wasn't... She couldn't process it, not properly, so she found herself trying to find things to do to keep herself from having to process it. If she didn't rest, she couldn't think. If she couldn't think, she couldn't break. It was likely faulty logic, but it was all she really had going for her.
That was why, right now, she was out and about. She'd been trying to get some hunting in, though it was a lot harder than normal with her lack of use in her wings and the occasional pang of pain that moving wrong brought her. Still, she'd rather do this than be confined for days on end. At least she'd caught a couple of mice in the fields. She would probably feel a lot worse if she couldn't hunt right without flying. She could. It was just harder. Maybe she relied on her wings too much.
She took a breath, about to let it out in a sigh when she noticed a figure leaning on the barn. Oh. She wasn't as alone as she'd thought. Her gaze swept over him, recognizing him as Ren. She hadn't talked to him much before, didn't know him well, but... He seemed... off. Was he normally this downtrodden? Were the bad feelings just contagious today? She frowned slightly, making a hasty decision without even really thinking about it. Before she could come up with any other ideas, she trotted forward, mice held in her jaws.
When she was near enough, she dropped them near Ren's paws, looking back up at him with a slight smile when she had. "You seem down." she said in place of a hello. "You don't have to talk to me about it if you wouldn't like to. I'm not here to pry. Just... I think you could use something tasty more than I could. I don't mind sharing."
