lost. it was something hard to conceive; the idea of being so clueless, so helpless, wandering within this world with no place to go. she could not comprehend such a feeling.
nui had never known the feeling of being graced with such turmoils. she had been born into this world knowing exactly where her place was. even before her body had matured, fate (mother) had decided what her work would be so. she knew where she went, where she wanted to go. from her youngest days she had been an assertive child-- knowledgable of where she wanted to go and how many steps she wanted to take to get there.
as it was, she could not comprehend boston's situation, as unbothered with his circumstance he appeared to be. truly oblivious. would he survive here? a place riddled with invaders-- weak and foolish as they were.
she stared at the youth critically-- though she had allowed her natural mask to slip upon her face, fitting into the well molded mask of the idle snowbounder. she pitied the canine, really. not in the sympathetic, compassionate way creatures pitied others. but in the way the lion watched the mouse, wondering when the time would come for it to be swallowed up. her empathy for the ants of this world was so fleeting. poor little pup. so eager to walk into the lion's den. self proclaimed beast of the jungle, or paper tiger? armed with teeth and claws, but using it an entirely shameful way and parading themselves around as more than they truly were.
"if you have nowhere to go, then i guess we can't refuse you," she allows her most charming of smiles to slip upon a tapered maw, incisors matching the powdery, fresh snow around her. bared teeth. so innocent, and yet so plainfully sinister. teeth made to kill. teeth that have killed. teeth that will lie and swindle and smile with a bright flashing glare and half concealed lies. "come along then, but be careful. i must warn you that some of our inhabitants are a lot less than friendly. they may attack you. be sure to stick by me. oh and..." she blinks a single eye kindly, pondering for a moment. she had already begun starting away, before she tilted a curious head towards the pup. "you never told me your name, did you?"
