Ilijas had been attending the same schools with the same people his entire life. Growing up in foster care had been difficult, especially given how late he and his sister had remained in the service, unable to be split apart even as they became more mature and discussed in hushed voices behind closed doors that maybe... maybe saying goodbye for right now was the only option. School had become sort of a consistency to him because of that, a promise of never-changing friends, a place where he was just a teenage boy with the camera he had spent all his money on. When they had finally been adopted into a real home with real parents that genuinely cared for them, he had worried greatly about where he'd live and more so, where'd they go to school.
He was happy to report that he was still very much attending that high school, a senior now and the president of the photography club. There was a party tonight, one that had been the talk of everyone for quite sometime. Ilijas wasn't really into parties, not particularly a fan of the huddled masses of bodies or even the booming music and over excessive quantities of alcohol. But there was a new girl at school, one who had caught his eye the moment she had stepped foot on campus- intriguing and kind and just somebody he wanted to meet. To get to know. As luck would have it, he was the one picking her up tonight.
But Ilijas didn't text her as he pulled into her driveway, instead studying her home for a few moments before jumping out of his card to ring the doorbell. Text messaging was so impersonal these days, he'd much rather physically retrieve her and say hello to her mother or something. It was a little awkward, standing on her door and all, a hand raised and hovering over the wood as he contemplated knocking to further sound his presence. Eh, what harm would that do anyways? Knocking out a little tune could provide both of them some easy entertainment- now he just needed to see if she appreciated the gesture.
