"Look at you." Alex murmured, smirking when Bastille officially claimed Oni as his own Fireball, wondering how such a combination would turn out in the end. Unstoppable force vs. unmovable object, you know? Then again, he wouldn't pretend everyone could handle such a ball of energy, the kid wanted to fight the sun.
He winced slightly though, the idea of being second best to Carolina, if she accepted at all anyway, was a little bitter to him. Not that Carolina was bad mentor material, no, not at all. She was a tough, scary lady. But he didn't think he was good enough to be her Fireball, not strong enough, not like Thea. She wouldn't get any use out of him. But it would be even weaker to express his feelings about it out loud, so he stayed silent, looking up at Bastille when his name was called.
