"Where are you from if it's so amazing for another animal to speak?" she asked, a hint of spite lacing her tone but repressed enough to go by unnoticed. Stella had never taken well to compliments, even if she tended to get them by the handful - mainly by those who had never seen an animal that looked like her before. It just - were they necessary?
