the girl's ears twitched as more sound came through - lucifer's voice, she recognized. what had he said? with each moment, they seemed to grow more distant. she opened her eyes again, sensing another arrive. it took her a moment to find them and figure out who they were, but the sight of deldrach struck a paralyzing fear - even worse than before, into her.
she needed to help her, somehow. decius wanted to kill her - he told her so. that's his plan. through everyone, her striking green eyes stared at deldrach. she wanted to tell her. she wanted to shout it out, but she couldn't. so instead, she tried her hardest to just...look. to give a warning gaze. she didn't know how deldrach would be able to tell, but she wanted to try.
the terrified, telling stare wouldn't last for too long, though, as she noticed someone else approach. she could quickly recognize her brother's voice through everything. she looks to him, expression seeming almost sad. he has been with her through everything, and this is how she repays him. constantly getting hurt again and again, and now she has put them all in danger. she is such an awful sister, an awful niece, daughter. she is an awful, awful girl.
"n-no," her voice is quiet as she responds to blue, her breathing seeming to relax slightly from the presence of her brother. "you're th-the b-best bro-br-brother, blue. you de-deserve th-the best b-back." and she was not it. he deserves more than her. he deserves more than her and her constant need for others.
she seems to be about to say something else - his presence was grounding her, making the distance go away, even if a little. but, vandal's approach distracted her, causing her attention to shift and more guilt to enter her. she wanted to reach out, she wanted to be held, to be told it was going to be okay, but she couldn't get that, and she certainly didn't deserve that. it was her job to do this, and it was her job to make sure this happens, but she was failing. she was failing her job.
she let in a sharp inhale, the distance growing again, and the sadness, and fear, and agony clear within her expression. "i'm s-sorry. 'm r-really sorry. i-i s-said i'd stop l-letting these th-things hh-happen, an-and i-i've b-been trying. i've been tr-trying r-rre-really h-hard, b-but it keeps h-happening. i'm s-sorry i k-keep needing h-help and w-worry oth-others an-and..." her voice began to fade out as her gaze grew more distant.
goldie remained quiet for a few moments, closing her eyes again. "i'm sor-sorry." she was sorry for everything. for putting them through so much because of her, for putting them in danger now. decius would try to kill them if she wasn't careful and she couldn't even warn them.
"o-okay," she'd say softly to rosemary's words. the young girl went quiet as she continued to be worked on, breaths harsh. her shaking body remained mostly still through everything. she opened her eyes again as beatrice arrived with raspberry leaves, quickly opening her mouth to take them, not even really bothering to listen to what she had to say about them.
"thank you." goldie would say gently to them, meaning it towards everyone that helped. she was still so sorry she needed all of this help. she faintly listened as rosemary instructed everyone, her ear twitching at the sound of her request to keep the girl talking. "well," she'd start weakly. "i-i hh-have a lot t-to say. i h-have the b-best fam-family ev-ever, n' i'd d-do anyth-thing for 'em. n' i l-love the oc-ocean an-and fishes and ff-food."

NOTHING'S EVER LOST FOREVER, IT'S JUST HIDING IN THE RECESS OF YOUR MIND AND WHEN YOU NEED IT, IT WILL COME TO YOU AT NIGHT. I MISS THE YELLOW. I MISS THE YELLING AND THE SHAKEDOWN. I'M NOT COMPLAINING, NO, I GOT A BETTER SET OF KNIVES NOW. I MISS MY DRUMMER, MY DEAD STEPBROTHER, AND THE PIT CROWD. AND CHUCK AND MATTY - IF THEY COULD SEE ME THEY'D BE SO PROUD.
