❝ YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN — YOUR SILENCE IS MY FAVORITE SOUND ❞
Yourself above all. That had been what his father's ideology and the ideology that he had tried to pass down onto his son, Pincher. He wasn't surprised by all the backstabbing his father had done to his own gang yet was shocked when none of the members really protested against him until the child came to the realization that they all believed in the same fate. It was a dog eat dog world and there wasn't room for any sympathy or pity that could soften the heart you held within your chest. Sentimentality blinded you from focusing on the goals that stretched ahead of you and if you let yourself to settle down and care for others, you were doomed to be killed by what you loved. These mindsets were something Pincher had struggled into relating to, his heart breaking everytime he was lectured and almost brainwashed into believing that they were right. No one mattered but yourself right? In the beginning, he eventually succumbed to that perspective in life had and had not minded when he would backstab others with a blade meant to pierce their trust for anyone. He supposed it was cruel to do so but he had grown tired of fighting and retaliating against his father's wishes. Until he fell in love.
Then everything seemed to have a change. The rose-tinted glasses that he had as a child returned to him when he had managed to "win" the heart of Theodosia and have his firstborn sons with her. A family. Someone that he would be there for and didn't have to worry about being backstabbed. Or so he thought. Then the day had arrived when tragedy struck and broke the man, causing him to run from the past and head to the island that he had been born in. It seemed that eventually others were attracted by the tropical island, desiring a place to call home and Pincher guessed that it was better to have a group for strength than being alone. His aching heart slowly began to patch itself up as he began to trust more and began to genuinely care for those around him to the point that he was fiercely protective of the ones that decided to join him and the others. He enjoyed the connectiont that they were able to maintain despite the growing numbers and he hoped that they knew that despite how reserved he may seem, Pincher was fine with socializing with anyone that had been willing to join them. So, he did believe now that despite his selfish behavior sometimes, that he cared for them.
The looming figure of the dark storm gray wildcat was stepping through the outskirts of the humid jungle, his jaws clamped down on a dying cigarette bud that he had been smoking for a while. His eyes briefly closed as he let his paws lead him towards the border where most tended to be found in unless they swam or flew here or whatever other situation they attempted to reach the volcanic island. He slowly opened his glacier blue eyes when he noticed voices and as he halted beside the others, his attention locked onto a dark furred wolf with eyes made of melted gold. He blinked, giving a light nod as he rumbled "Welcome to the Typhoon, Mingan. I'm Pincher, the captain around here. I'm glad you decided to join us." He flashed a faint smile through the lit cigarette before eating it, swallowing the hot item without much trouble since it was a habit he tended to do.
