former human - freelancer - manipulative
Washington didn't know everything about the Freelancer project. He just knew how it came to end up being and what they were doing during the time of the project. The Freelancer didn't know the extreme details of what had happened, as he wasn't able to retain everything that Epsilon had ended up doing to him. It was a painful process trying to go through all of his memories but it was something that needed to be done if he wanted to get some sort of an answer anyway. Washington didn't know that Church was the Alpha. He didn't even know what the Alpha was until North and York started talking about it at the mess hall one day. It had been something that Delta and Theta constantly talked about, almost sounding like it was some sort of religion. York had said that they believed that the Alpha had created them, but there was never really anything to base that information off of except for the AI fragments that they did have. Washington had simply brushed it off as something that AI's just did to themselves to keep busy so that they wouldn't have to worry about it in the future.
Washington didn't know that Alpha was actually something that existed in the Mother of Invention, and had no clue as to what a smart AI was actually capable of doing. That had been the only time that he heard the term Alpha being spoken, and it had been the last time that he had even heard it being talked about. Washington knew that Alpha did exist now though, but he wasn't sure if it was still existing on the ship that they had considered to be their home. It was strange that was for sure, but he hadn't heard the term being used since he got back to this place. The Freelancer had memories of the other being tortured and put through extremely realistic simulations by its own fragments so that it could fragment some more. He didn't know the other's voice though, as he only remembered the screams that were going through each of them, and the other certainly didn't sound like the Director. Washington still didn't know the actual name of the Director despite sharing the memories that Alpha did. When it came to the memories that he did get, the hardly sane man wasn't really able to get specific details from what happened.
The Freelancer was able to get scenes that usually didn't have any audio, except for a specific scene with Texas. Or Allison he should say as Texas is a different type of persona that was created by the Director to get his wife back. So far, the only AI that he had managed to interact since he had been here, was Sigma, and that was the other insulting him the last time that they spoke when Maine had broken his arm during that time. It was hard to think about, but he knew that there was probably no saving Maine from whatever was going on inside of his head. If there was, it would mean that they would risk their lives more instead of just trying to kill him. Washington already understood that Church didn't like being around him or Carolina. He didn't know where the lack of trust really came from, hence why he had distanced himself from the other as soon as Texas arrived as Texas seemed to be the only creature that was around Church for a big length of time. Since Caboose wasn't around, there wasn't really anyone for him to relate to either. Was he afraid of Maine though? Not exactly.
He knew that both him and Carolina were capable, and now that they were going to try and kill him he doubted that they could really use. He knew how to fight a bit better in the body that he was in, and that gave them a better percentage of winning. He had no idea how injured Church actually was. Considering that the other was laying on the ground it could mean a couple of things. The scent of blood wasn't able to reach his nose, but when he noticed the substance leaking on the soaked ground, he realized that the other was bleeding and moved around toward the others side. He didn't have any medical supplies with him, which was probably his fault. As he looked at the wound over, he listened as Church began to speak, knowing that Carolina would be around sooner or later. Hopefully sooner so that he didn't get attacked from behind. Washington's head twitched to the side though as the other spoke about Alpha. What? Why would Maine call Church Alpha? He was just a simulation trooper. And then Maine thought he was an AI? That couldn't be possible. It shouldn't be possible.
He was fairly certain that Alpha was basically split down till there was nothing left! [b]"That can't be possible. You're just a simulation trooper." Washington said completely confused and didn't understand what was happening. His mind needed more time to process what was actually happening now. Could Church be the Alpha? He didn't remember the Alpha being taken from the ship or if the others chip could have survived during the explosion! At the mention of Maine leaving, that sounded even more suspicious. Was this a trap and bait? Did the other think that they were coming? This caused Washington to raise his head and look around just in case. When Church said that he wanted to leave, Washington couldn't agree more. It was obvious that he was important to Maine, and getting him away from him was the best option right now. "Can you walk?" Washington questioned, as he could carry Church if he needed to, the canine a lot smaller than he was, but if he didn't have to and could help Carolina fight, then that would be the better option.
Speaking of Carolina, the serval soon arrived on the scene, and he nodded his head in agreement to what she said. They needed to leave before Sigma realized that something wrong was happening. "On it Boss." The armored smilodon quickly replied before lowing himself to the ground and aiming to nudge Church's underbelly to try and get him up onto his feet. He wouldn't offer to carry him just yet and position himself behind Church, looking in the direction where the other came from. Washington's throat tightened at Carolina saying that she died because of him. It was technically the truth and wasn't a nice one to hear but it needed to be said. The smilodon kept his jaw shut and didn't say anything as he moved into position. "No movement at our 6'" Washington stated through his helmet, his voice shaking slightly. The adrenaline was already going through his veins, and he wanted to see Maine and get the fight over with already.
