[size=9pt]Moon essentially beams at Hazel's words. What the fuck was going on? Why weren't they mad? Was everyone just eternally exhausted, these last few days? Whatever it was, he was grateful for it, because, to be honest, Hazel intimidated him just a little bit and he didn't want to get on her bad side. Even if she couldn't beat the shit out of him-- obvious size difference-- she'd maybe give him a bad look and he just knew that would leave a mark on his heart. Perhaps he was romanticizing her, but it was doubtful. She was just cool. Her boyfriend, however. "Where's the boytoy, Nuts?" Hazelnut? No? Yeah, not his best moment. "I feel like I'm being stood up."

When he glances back to Peri, she's looking at him weird and he realizes she's said something. He frowns, gentle, though the small smile is still sitting on his maw and it's a strange look. Her gaze is glazed over slightly, and his eyes dance over her face before he realizes he's either being psychoanalyzed or she's whipping out her weird powers. He pulls his paws in tight, looks back to the screen immediately. As if that would shelter him. His voice is quiet when he speaks, hesitant to disrupt the movie, but it's also the result of paranoia, or a sudden bout of self-awareness. "That right, herb nerd? What does effect dogs? Scooby snacks? Do you fetch, too?"
