how to use poetry in a street fight + o, weekly task - MOONMADE - 07-30-2018

[size=9pt]/ set the night of the blood moon. also........ this is so late but shrug emoji who cares

The task was to prank someone. 'The clan needs something to lighten it up!' said Tuxedolung, or something along those lines, and that was all well and good, but Moon was exhausted and still had work to do and the weather was horrible and he'd gotten soaked so now he smelled like wet cat and-- Long story short, he was in a bad fucking mood. If he tried for an actual prank right now, someone would most likely end up injured, and he was such a good Halo he'd probably turn up without herbs, like the other day, and they'd die and then he'd spiral into an abyss of self-loathing and probably run frantic and aimless into the endless plains, never to return.

So he wasn't doing that. Or, he was. But the prank he chose was far more... Low-key. Far more socially acceptable. He'd hung posters left, right and center of the Ascendant's territory advertising a Blood Moon Livestream in the Planetarium, and given their Clan all had some sort of astrology fetish, he was confident a good crowd would turn up.

But, you guessed it-- there was no Blood Moon stream on display. Instead, the soft voice of Duchess and Thomas bounced off the walls and echoed behind the noise of the rain battering on the roof. Most would expect Moon to hijack the Planetarium and put up some tasteless shit like Hentai or something, but today was a long, grey day, and the only thing he cared to watch were the Aristocats on a massive HD screen, and the only freaky noises he cared to hear were the sounds of Scat Cat in the background of Everybody Wants To Be A Cat. Moon lay curled in one of the chairs, a tight ball of golden fur with his head on his paws like a pouting puppy, gaze trained on the screen. The scene where Duchess and Thomas sat atop the roof, gazing at the silver orb in the sky like the saps they were was playing, so no one could call Moon out if they were to arrive now. He'd never said it'd be a real moon. Cartoon was good enough.

The air was thick with nostalgia. Chill vibes, or whatever. All that was missing was some hot chocolate, blankets, and maybe some outraged star nerds.

↠↠
it's been far too long since the female was able to witness a blood moon, so when she found the fliers mentioning it, she decided to go check it out for good old times sake. however coming to witness some animated movies about animals were the very last thing she would expect to see instead upon arrival. was she disappointed and somewhat upset? hell yes. was she going to complain about watching free animated movies about talking animals? probably later to be honest. now, she just decided to enjoy this while it lasts.

[align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: times new roman;"]♡ — she thought that seeing a moon coated in a regal red instead of its usual cold silver would be interesting. let's just say that adelaide was disappointed with what lies were spoken. it was a dumb movie. she was about to strike something up, yell at moon for lying and storm out, cause a ruckus, anything. that's until she heard the familiar sound of harp strings. they were watching...the aristocats? immediately, she had felt her anger fizzle out like a flame running across water.

alright, so, she liked the aristocats for one reason. it was her childhood favorite. she remembered being so naive and young, her fragile heart captured by the romance of an upperclass lady and a man as poor as mice. how her eyes stole the stars from the skies when she had watched such a simple movie, falling deeper in love. it helped her escape the chaos of her family. this was a good, wholesome movie.

settling down herself, the suddenly awestruck mutt had been captivated by the gentle music and soft scene. tails intertwined, the atmosphere soft and easy. the moon shining down upon the blossoming lovers. it was always in her dreams as a child. sometimes...it still is.

Re: how to use poetry in a street fight + o, weekly task - imperia - 07-30-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 51%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: georgia;"]Poor, simple Imperia. Her backwoods upbringing provided that she has no idea of what a livestream is, nor is she familiar with the concept of movies. The fact that the Ascendants has working electricity at all was a shock (get it?) to her when she first arrived! Only through the few books she managed to get her paws on while her father wasn’t looking clued her in to the existence of moving pictures and phenomenon far grander than one wolf’s measly existence. But she has never seen any of it in person.

So when Moon began putting up posters to see a Blood Moon, Imperia was intrigued, but not entirely sure how one is supposed to “livestream.” She doesn’t even know what it is. But she arrives anyways, only to see Moon surrounded by picnic blankets and snacks and a giant screen with animated cats. ”What is this?” asks the girl quietly as she approaches, tentatively taking a seat beside Moonmade. It is clear that she is unsure of how close she should sit from her awkward expression. But most of her wonderment is directed towards the screen. ”Is this a movie?” seems like it. Looks like it. Sounds like it. But Peri has to ask to be sure.

[size=9pt]Moon had fully been expecting backlash like no other. Maybe Bast himself would come in and demote him on the spot. Hell, maybe he'd even get a good ol' banishing for this sacriligy. Offence to the stars, or whatever. But you can't disrespet the Moon when you're literally named after it, and so, he was immune to all concequences. Even if he wasn't; in the moment, he really didn't care.

Two arrived, both seeming initially confused and angry until they realize just what was on show. Was the Aristocats just a universally Good Thing? Probably.

Then came Peri in all her pretty gulliblity, and Moon watched her with a golden gaze as her signature, 'I am but an innocent, pretty flower girl and I have no idea what's going on' look crossed her face. She seemed to wear that a lot around Moon. Despite himself, he found his lips tilting upwards gently, something fond and sweet. She hopped up beside him and he refused to sit up, instead forcing the chair divider down with one shove of his tail. They were close, and there was that uneasiness in her, again. Tension felt weird when he wasn't watching it from afar, when he was living it. He lasted about 15 seconds before he broke and looped his tail down around her, gentle. "No, Imperia," said the Halo, voice teasing but obviously tired, "It's the new wallpaper. Bast has a thing for rooftop romances. If it's moving, you've probably been around the catnip too long."

(screams because god, my childhood, nostalgia for VCR tapes comin in strong)

Hazel hadn't ever seen a movie. She knew what they were, had heard of them in stories and songs and such and had a specific image in mind for what the scene of a movie should look like. But this was...so much better. It was like the indoor equivalent to a campfire, cozy and soft and quiet. The entire atmosphere tugged at her bones, lulling her to sleep under the watch of careful darkness and gentle background noise. This setting felt like a safety blanket - like nothing could touch them. Hazel wanted to nestle deep into a cocoon of blankets and never move, watching the movie unfold against the planetarium walls.

The girl happened to wander in at the time Moon was answering Peri's question, so Hazel thought it would be rude to ask twice. Her curiosity did happen to get the better of her as Moon stated that Bast liked rooftop romances, her head tilting in the slightest way as she tugged on her bond with the Seraph, only slightly eager to know if it was true. She didn't wait for him to show up, however, too ready to snuggle amongst the soft blankets and watch the movie. "This was a great idea, Moon." Hazel piped, offering a quick grin in the boy's direction.

[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 55%; font-family: arial; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: 0px;"]Is it so strange for a creature who is arguably of very high intelligence to be unfamiliar with many of the newer technologies? Perhaps, had she originated from a place where such things were accessible. Alas, Imperia's childhood was filled with books and song and all the simpler things in life. Well, as simple as they could be when living with a tyrannical father. It is not the she-wolf's fault that Moonmade has introduced her to so many things that she has only read about within the span of time in which he has lived in the Ascendants. In fact, he should feel honored that he gets to experience Imperia's many "firsts." First laughter in liberation, first person she allows to touch her, first person to learn she hates confinement, and now the first person to introduce her to movies.

Luminous silver eyes are mesmerized by the moving pictures, entranced by the songs and how it all seems to flow when she feels something touch her side. Peri seems to freeze, surprised by Moon's sudden gesture for a moment, but relaxes shortly afterwards. In fact, she seems to lean into his side. Not much, but enough. Granted, she is far too shy to look at him, no matter how pleased she is. "Catnip does not affect canines the same way it affects felines," she replies finally, seeming to have purposefully "missed" the joke. Peri is accustomed to Moon's teasing by now, and does her best not to let him get her goat. Several minutes pass in silence, and with each second, the girl slowly gathers her courage to glance over at him.

She freezes. Moon is...he’s pink. Not his fur, but his aura. A soft, gentle pink the color of roses. Imperia is surprised. She shouldn’t be, given the fact that he just did the “arm-around-the-shoulder-at-the-movies” thing, but Peri isn’t exactly aware of how people feel about her. She’s used to being kind and not expecting anything in return. Why would she ever consider that maybe, just maybe, someone would start actually liking her. You know...in that way. Maybe she’s wrong? This ability is so new that perhaps she is mistaken. Yeah. That must be it. Peri doesn’t realize she’s been staring until she turns her head back to the screen. Oh Maker...

Re: how to use poetry in a street fight + o, weekly task - MOONMADE - 08-01-2018

[size=9pt]Moon essentially beams at Hazel's words. What the fuck was going on? Why weren't they mad? Was everyone just eternally exhausted, these last few days? Whatever it was, he was grateful for it, because, to be honest, Hazel intimidated him just a little bit and he didn't want to get on her bad side. Even if she couldn't beat the shit out of him-- obvious size difference-- she'd maybe give him a bad look and he just knew that would leave a mark on his heart. Perhaps he was romanticizing her, but it was doubtful. She was just cool. Her boyfriend, however. "Where's the boytoy, Nuts?" Hazelnut? No? Yeah, not his best moment. "I feel like I'm being stood up."

When he glances back to Peri, she's looking at him weird and he realizes she's said something. He frowns, gentle, though the small smile is still sitting on his maw and it's a strange look. Her gaze is glazed over slightly, and his eyes dance over her face before he realizes he's either being psychoanalyzed or she's whipping out her weird powers. He pulls his paws in tight, looks back to the screen immediately. As if that would shelter him. His voice is quiet when he speaks, hesitant to disrupt the movie, but it's also the result of paranoia, or a sudden bout of self-awareness. "That right, herb nerd? What does effect dogs? Scooby snacks? Do you fetch, too?"

Re: how to use poetry in a street fight + o, weekly task - HEARTEYES - 08-01-2018

[align=center][div style="text-align:justify;width:45%;font-family:verdana"]Hearteyes' family had never been superstitious, but there was something about the blood red moon hanging in the sky that made her think of century old curses and boys-turned-wolves. This doesn't stop the molly from following the posters advertising a blood moon livestream, though. Any chance to be around the other members of her clan was not a chance to be missed.

She arrives in the room with a bounce in her step, fully expecting to see a projection of the blood moon on the screen. She softens immediately when she realizes that instead they are watching a movie, something that her parents had rarely let her indulge in. Oh, she loved movies, especially romances and cartoons. The feline can't help but purr as she picks a place among the crowd, settling close enough to the others to feel their warmth. This meant that she shoved herself up between Moonmade and Imperia, unknowingly ruining whatever moment they seemed to be having. She had always been one for cuddles. Hearteyes is practically vibrating with purrs now, eyes hooded as she watches the movie.

"This is a very nice movie, Moon. It's cute."

BASTILLEPRISONER AURELIUS
BY THE GRACE OF THE FIRE AND THE FLAMES
Bastille had no idea what the fuck Moon was doing fucking around in the planetarium, and he didn't bother to go investigate that afternoon. He was certain he'd find out later, and had a patrol or three to go on before he resorted to pestering Moon. He liked the Halo, obviously, but Bast had a feeling that engaging him meant sacrificing a few hours to shenanigans. Moon struck him as the sort to suck you in like that. Which... well, he didn't particularly mind. He was easy to be around and chill enough not to irritate Bast. That was good enough for him in terms of picking friends, frankly.

It was the subtle tugging of Hazel on their bond that finally drew him towards the set up, little golden thread going taunt between them and yanking his attention towards her. She rarely called on him so precisely, and thrown for a moment, Bast stopped in the middle of what he was doing. And then he shook his head -- both to clear the confusion of Hazel asking for him and to clear the superimposed visions dotting his eyesight -- and headed in her direction, chasing the draw. What he found was... interesting, to say the least.

[b]"Damn, boo, if you wanted to ask me out, you didn't have to set all of this up," Bastille said dryly as he joined them, smirking slightly as he gaze landed on Moon. He forced himself not to look straight to Hazel the second he arrived, and instead looked at her after a moment, studying her and Peri briefly. "Hey, you two. Enjoying Moon's shitty movie?" Bast didn't actually know it, but whatever. (If he did he would note that Marie reminded him suspiciously of his mother.)
