man, the beach was beautiful! rinto had been spending the day relaxing on a hammock, looking over the sparkling water. he didn't want to think today- if left bored for too long, his mind wandered to dark places he didn't exactly want to revisit. here, though, he couldn't stop thinking about how lucky he was to here, on basically an island paradise. he had escaped an abusive father and his own sins by coming here. if he hadn't found the typhoon, he would likely be dead. that wasn't a super fun thought, he realized, and hopped off the hammock.
"hey, does anybody w-want to go swimming with me?" he asked hopefully, taking off his socks and backpack, leaving them in the white sand. of course, his band-aids might get ruined in the water, but he always had more. "it'll be fun!" he announced. unlike most cats, rinto loved water. he stepped in and relaxed immediately as the cool ocean cooled his body, and finally he was at peace.
