Soft paws carried them through the snowy landscape, a welcome reprieve from the sweltering heat that had plagued the Ascendants. There was very little over there that kept the place cool, and making do was never Lirim's favorite thing to do, despite being perfectly capable of doing it. No, they preferred to take life easy these days, to avoid unnecessary conflicts where they weren't needed and avoid places that were hot like the very pits of hell.
It was a good thing that Lirim wasn't a man of many allegiances, then. It took petty things like the weather to have them leave and make themselves at home in a place that better suited whatever they needed at the given time. It was the way of the void: politics always flew right above their head, despite them being perfectly capable of reenacting political things if they wanted to. They had been leader of clans, and climbed up to high positions as well with what seemed like very little other than offering some good strategic plan that the other members couldn't think of themselves.
"It's nice here. Cooler than it was back there," the small dragon murmured, clinging onto their mate's back while simultaneously trying not to dig their tiny talons into his skin too harshly. "You recon they'll let us stay, Bubs?" With a soft smile they leaned down to affectionately lick at the scruff of his neck, although they doubted he could feel it given his massive form and the fact that they barely stood over two feet at that given moment, shrinking down to a size that Bubonicplague could have easily carried.
