HEART
Shay snorted at Margaery's words. "Haven't you heard the saying, babe? First's the worst?" She couldn't remember how the rest of the dictum flowed, but she didn't much care. She had succeeded in making sure her lover knew the Green Team was going down. "And I wouldn't hold my breath. Red Team smoked everyone last year. We're here to win again." The blonde woman turned towards her tiny squaddron of children, and they all hooped and hollered in agreement.
She waves a hello to Leonard, happy to see him ready to go. He was on Blue Team - Bastille's team. She grinned just a bit and hoped he wouldn't be too crushed by the loss.
She watched Alexander mimic her actions with his own bandanna, and her smile grew. "Now we're talking, Xander!" she said, giving him a big thumbs up. He had seemed a tad bit shy from the moment he landed in the Ascendants Summer Camp program, and Shay was determined to help break him out of his shell before the camp was over with. She was about to say more when Michael climbed aboard, and she chuckled a bit. "C'mere, Michael, lemme help you," she said, maneuvering gently around in the longboat to get to this curly-haired kiddo. She then moved to fix his life jacket. "Need me to tie your bandanna around your head so it won't fall off out of your shirt?"
She waved to Bastille and Carolina as the entered the fray, and she laughed at both of their comments (and Leo's). There was no way Blue Team or Yellow Team was winning. They didn't have the best campers like Red Team did. "It's so sad that you guys think you're winning this year. Red Team won last year, and we're keeping our title." Her tone was laced with joy though; she was really happy to be competing in all of this.
She waved to Hazel, beaming brightly. She knew her friend probably wouldn't be participating in this activity, but that was okay. Besides, someone needed to cheer for Red Team from the sidelines (even if Haze wasn't on her team). And they needed someone to watch the kids that weren't so keen on boat racing. "Haze! Cheer for Red Team!"
