unfortunately his past relationships haven't been the best. he hasn't had many partners, but most of those that he has had weren't very kind to him. the most notable is probably tex, or agent texas (her true name being allison). she ended up stabbing him in the back multiple times, in more ways than one. even then, he stayed in a relationship with her, claiming he was in love with her. now he's eager to find her again after the explosion.
in a relationship, he treats his partner pretty much how he would treat anyone else. he's snarky and rude, but they also get to see a gentler side of him when none else is looking. he's often protective and is definitely the jealous type. when he develops a crush, he does what any rational person would do and hides away, avoiding the person he has feelings for.
also, in terms of sexuality, he says that he's straight but is actually a closeted bisexual. he's afraid of what people might think of him, as he doesn't want people to look down on him anymore.
friendships
again, he doesn't treat his friends all that differently. of course, his jabs and insults are slightly more light-hearted, but all in all his interactions with them are the same. it's not that hard to befriend him, either, the person just needs the right personality and the patience to put up with his stubbornness and short tempter.
