THE BLUE AND GREEN BELOW IS A MASTERPIECE — It seemed Jacob was a little late to this meeting, unfortunately. Still, he settled down among the others and quietly listened. Did he really want to be an official doctor again? It was nice not being responsible for anything or anyone but he still felt the need to do something. He knew this was where he was most useful. He'd been a doctor for the majority of his life, it didn't feel right to just do nothing when someone needed medical attention. But did he really need a position to do that? Jacob was a doctor. Whether or not he held the position, it was just who he was. He was someone who helped other people as much as he could in what ways he knew how. That wouldn't stop because it wasn't an official title. Still, he found himself speaking up. He wasn't sure why, exactly. It was almost a force of habit, as though he were sitting with his Ma while she quizzed him.
"I agree with everythin' everyone else has said. I'd like ta' add tha', dependin' on how deep it is ah' course, sometimes they may need emergency stitchin'. In an emergency situation, ya'd wanna' use a continuous stitchin' 'cause they're quick ta' put on n' do the job decently in the short term. Ya'd probably wanna' change 'em eventually though, so long as they ain't the kind the body absorbs, which are hard ta' get a hold of out 'ere anyway so they probably would be, n' make an interrupted stitch 'cause if one of the stitches breaks, ya' jus' gotta' repair that one, not the whole line. They jus' cause a lot less damage if anythin' happens. There's also a bunch ah' types for surgery ya' could use, n' I can think ah' two types in particular that would be helpful with a cut but, like the interrupted sttichin', ya'd have ta' go back n' do 'em later 'cause they take quite a bit ah' time," he explained before pausing for a moment and then adding, "I guess if it was real big n' there was a serious concern of them bleedin' out, ya' could also cauterize a wound but tha's real risky n' really shouldn' be done unless necessary. For one thing, it makes handlin' infection way more difficult n' the wound can get real bad even after the bleeding stops, though tha' might be better than them jus' bleedin' out, n' then I jus'... Ya' need a heat source ta' burn it, ya know, n' I personally don' feel confident doin' tha' ta' someone which is why I keep stitches with me." — BUT YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL LIKE I'VE NEVER SEEN
