Even pirates needed a doctor around. Actually, pirates, especially, needed a doctor around, given the oft reckless life style. The bookworm of a feline trotted over, minding his broken leg, sea-green eyes luminous with interest and eagerness. Being a healer was a way to contribute without being a true pirate, which Raziel could never see himself becoming. It just was not him. Of course nor was being king of his people and... The rusty spotted cat shook out the invading thoughts. It was unofficial anyhow... Just none of his siblings had made a challenge or claim. Perhaps one of his children... Well, it did no good to think on it right now. He could focus on trying out for a position as a doctor. Something of real help.
He wished he had arrived just a tad sooner, but that was alright. Nice to see there were others here who had a mind for medical knowledge. The small feline took a quiet seat, nodding to the Captain, "consider me interested in the position as well, Captain," the irishmen murmured before placing his full attention onto the answers provided and their givers. The male inclined his head in agreement, before creasing his brow.
"Raspberry leaves," he began, flicking an ear, "may also be used to halt bleeding, as well as comfrey, but neither will fight off an infection, so there must be caution. Therefore horsetail or marigold are the better options, as for the previously said reasons." He tilted his head thoughtfully. Raziel had faced many injuries in his life, some easier taken care of than others, but he often had someone at his side aiding him. Most of his knowledge came from studying books and listening to his teachers; he had to worry about actually utilizing it in the field, even if he did know how to apply what he knew. In the real life, sometimes, as he had seen time and time again, things required improvisation. "I agree with using leaves as a makeshift; cabbage leaves are a good example of use, and if there's no honey, one could use bindweed. That could help tie and keep something in place for a temporary period of time."
