Four people - the ocelot looked at each of them as they came over, a bit surprised at the individuals who chose to attend. If she bet on who wanted to attend her lessons, Caesar probably wouldn't even register on the list. Despite her immense dislike for the yellow demon brat, she saw no problem with teaching him about teas. What harm could he do to her home with teas? Nodding to them all, she waved her paw and chomped down on another floating water blob. Time to begin her lesson.
"Thank you all for attending! And, Pincher, don't worry about him; if I couldn't defend the potency of my medical abilities, then it'd be best for you to throw me out as a snakeoil doctor," she spoke, a hint of amusement in her quiet voice. Knowing Rosemary, that amusement likely came from a place of mischief; she certainly planned on giving Brad some proof for herbal teas, but she turned her attention to her lesson - and, in effect, setting up her fun with the skeptic.
From a small stash of plants beside her, she plucked a dried poppy seed pod out from the bunch, setting it inside a cup of water. With a flick of her paw, she caused the water to begin boiling. "Now, this plant is known for its painkiller properties, as well as its aid for sleep and digestion. The majority of the chemicals responsible for this are located inside the pod... but you wouldn't want to eat that. Instead, if you're going to eat it, you'd want to eat the seeds - two whole seeds is an appropriate dose for someone around my size," she spoke glancing at the four to see if they followed so far. Pointing at the big bulb in the plant, she added, "The seeds are inside there, in the seed pod. You will usually want to make poppy tea with just the seeds, but I'm going to make an extra strong brew for our class skeptic." She flashed a bit of a devious grin at Brad when she spoke, with her main pair of eyes remaining on her mug.
"Poppy seed tea can be a wonderful way to relax, as the poppy plant is a sedative - hence why it can be used to dull pain and make people sleepy. However, it is arguably easy to get a drug dependency on just the poppy seed tea, so if you're looking for a sleep aid, I would recommend some less potent plants first," she continued, with a pointed look at Pincher with her auxiliary eyes. After this batch, she would probably make one just for the insomniac in the crowd, especially since it seemed to grow in popularity within the group. Goldie, for one, certainly 'caught' her father's problem. Sliding a second mug beside her, she placed her paw above the tea, and pulled up to yank the boiling water out of her first mug - successfully leaving just the plant pieces at the bottom of the cup. With a plop she plopped it into the second cup with a flick of her wrist.
Sliding it in front of Brad, she continued, "If you make poppy tea with the seed pod, it can create an interesting sense of euphoria - given that morphine is present in the seed pod. But, if you doubt that the tea works, you're more than welcome to drink the whole thing and prove me wrong." Given the high dose and Brad's smaller body, she honestly wasn't sure that he wouldn't just start snoring after drinking it. But, no matter; she doubted he'd die, poppy seed pod tea usually only caused deaths when taken concurrently with other drugs. She doubted he would die from her little dare.
