oh my wrinkles build on me // o, herbal tea lesson - ROSEMARY - 07-02-2018

Her right paw twirled lazily over her hot cup of tea, a slight frown marring her face. With her main eyes half closed, the ocelot tilted her head slightly to the right as she picked out the smells of her doublemint tea. Spearmint and peppermint, obviously, overpowered the rest. But she was sure she added something else to the mix, though she couldn't quite seem to find traces of its leaves regardless of how painfully she stirred the boiling beverage with each motion of her hovering paw.

Sighing, she sat back as she supposed her mind needed to fixate elsewhere, anyway. She collected a few choice plants and quite a few mugs - if Pincher wanted a herbal lesson, she would certainly supply the group with one. Rosemary adored teaching people new skills, but she often found it difficult to decide on what to teach. After all, people usually learned nothing from a lesson they found boring or on a topic they thought useless to their goals. Accomplishing these two things at once, in a field that most people usually avoided all together... difficult, very difficult.

With a quick upward flick of her paw, she caused a large drop of tea water to hover out of her cup and into her waiting mouth with as much ease as though she'd been an empress fed grapes by her entourage. Hopefully the tea would do its work and calm her nerves. "Anyone interested in herbal teas and their health applications, please come over here!" she called out from her corner of the treehouse, the tips of her forked tail twitching despite her otherwise calm and dispassionate exterior.

Re: oh my wrinkles build on me // o, herbal tea lesson - CAESAR CIPHER. - 07-02-2018

IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD !
CAESAR CIPHER. MALE. THE TYPHOON. OFFICER.
Although it may seem a bit out of character for him, Caesar was quite honestly interested in learning about herbal remedies, though he was mostly interested what the teas did to relax the mind, rather than your body. Surely that was a thing that could happen, right? He knew that tea could calm the nerves, but that was about it, and nerves were usually tied to brain waves and how your brain thought. If tea could calm you down, then how, and which herb helped with that? "I'm listening." Caesar stated as he took a seat, sniffing the air to try and get a whiff of the tea she was currently brewing.

Re: oh my wrinkles build on me // o, herbal tea lesson - brad - 07-02-2018

oh lord, was this some of that vegan shit or whatever? brad couldn't help but snicker at the vast array of herbs gathered before the ocelot as he approached his crewmates. while traveling as a nomad, his father always dismissed herbal remedies as some made-up bullshit and preached that 'toughing it out' was the best remedy. the canine was lucky to have never fallen ill in his ten moons of life, or otherwise his chances of survival wouldn't of been as strong in his scenario.

the leonberger took a lazy seat not far from the two, and focused his chestnut gaze at the calm feline before him. shit! was that an extra pair of eyes on her head? brad had seen a lot in his lifetime, but nothing quite like that. situated enough to make a trademark rude interruption, the canine chimed in by saying, "hey four eyes, does this herb shit actually even work? it's just'a flimsy 'ol plant". he shrugged his shoulders in a nonchalant manner, looking around as if he expected nods of agreement or something.

Re: oh my wrinkles build on me // o, herbal tea lesson - PINCHER - 07-04-2018

Pincher had heard the medicinal wonders of herbal tea yet had never really been able to truly try any in his lifetime. When traveling with a nomad group full of drunken rowdy pirates, having a good pot of tea was something of a rarity. He had once tried a bit, one he believed had been apple cinnamon from a kindly female that had taken him in after the tragic deaths of his sons. He had stumbled around with the reeking scent of alcohol in a bright blazing day to be taken in by the female, the taste of her tea a faded memory that Pincher had forgotten until now. His pepper black nose caught the scent of the sweet mixture of mints that came from what appeared to be where his half-sister was located at as he shortly followed after Brad, his long ears pricked as he heard the announcement that she had called for. Herbal tea and their health applications? The tall canine raised a fictional eyebrows with curiosity as he reached the side of Caesar and Brad with a faint nod of greeting towards his sibling.

However, his attention snapped towards Brad as he heard him call his sister the teasing namecalling of "four eyes" causing Pincher to have a low growl rumble within his throat in a warning fashion, frigid ice blue eyes narrowing as he went to a sitting position. "It can work, fluffball." Pincher retorted back with his right silky ear twitching, the crimson feather softly dancing in the air. He then turned his full attention towards Rosemary, wondering what options of herbal tea she would offer him due to Pincher having trouble with almost everything such as chronic headaches, stress, and insomnia. Would anything ever help him end the pain? Perhaps. Perhaps not.

Re: oh my wrinkles build on me // o, herbal tea lesson - SÉAMUS - 07-05-2018

To be honest, the feline was more interested in poisonous herbs than healing.  One could even assume whenever he carried a weapon with him, it was coated in something poisonous, whether it be from venom or plants.  That being said, he could admit it was probably important to know about the opposite; truth be told, Seamus knew more about the medical than it appeared, he just didn't care enough about it.  It was not his cup of tea.

Nonetheless, the rarely seen rusty spotted cat was there, ear flicking as he took a seat.  Perhaps it would be interesting, and useful, to know what she had to teach.

Four people - the ocelot looked at each of them as they came over, a bit surprised at the individuals who chose to attend. If she bet on who wanted to attend her lessons, Caesar probably wouldn't even register on the list. Despite her immense dislike for the yellow demon brat, she saw no problem with teaching him about teas. What harm could he do to her home with teas? Nodding to them all, she waved her paw and chomped down on another floating water blob. Time to begin her lesson.

"Thank you all for attending! And, Pincher, don't worry about him; if I couldn't defend the potency of my medical abilities, then it'd be best for you to throw me out as a snakeoil doctor," she spoke, a hint of amusement in her quiet voice. Knowing Rosemary, that amusement likely came from a place of mischief; she certainly planned on giving Brad some proof for herbal teas, but she turned her attention to her lesson - and, in effect, setting up her fun with the skeptic.

From a small stash of plants beside her, she plucked a dried poppy seed pod out from the bunch, setting it inside a cup of water. With a flick of her paw, she caused the water to begin boiling. "Now, this plant is known for its painkiller properties, as well as its aid for sleep and digestion. The majority of the chemicals responsible for this are located inside the pod... but you wouldn't want to eat that. Instead, if you're going to eat it, you'd want to eat the seeds - two whole seeds is an appropriate dose for someone around my size," she spoke glancing at the four to see if they followed so far. Pointing at the big bulb in the plant, she added, "The seeds are inside there, in the seed pod. You will usually want to make poppy tea with just the seeds, but I'm going to make an extra strong brew for our class skeptic." She flashed a bit of a devious grin at Brad when she spoke, with her main pair of eyes remaining on her mug.

"Poppy seed tea can be a wonderful way to relax, as the poppy plant is a sedative - hence why it can be used to dull pain and make people sleepy. However, it is arguably easy to get a drug dependency on just the poppy seed tea, so if you're looking for a sleep aid, I would recommend some less potent plants first," she continued, with a pointed look at Pincher with her auxiliary eyes. After this batch, she would probably make one just for the insomniac in the crowd, especially since it seemed to grow in popularity within the group. Goldie, for one, certainly 'caught' her father's problem. Sliding a second mug beside her, she placed her paw above the tea, and pulled up to yank the boiling water out of her first mug - successfully leaving just the plant pieces at the bottom of the cup. With a plop she plopped it into the second cup with a flick of her wrist.

Sliding it in front of Brad, she continued, "If you make poppy tea with the seed pod, it can create an interesting sense of euphoria - given that morphine is present in the seed pod. But, if you doubt that the tea works, you're more than welcome to drink the whole thing and prove me wrong." Given the high dose and Brad's smaller body, she honestly wasn't sure that he wouldn't just start snoring after drinking it. But, no matter; she doubted he'd die, poppy seed pod tea usually only caused deaths when taken concurrently with other drugs. She doubted he would die from her little dare.

You will always be a monster, there is no turning back from it.
But what type of monster you become is entirely up to you -

"you should save your scorn for those on the opposite side of a battlefield" a deep voice intoned as the pitch dark dragon joined the group listening to Rosemary - to whom he inclined his head "Lucifer Grimm" since he was fairly sure they hadn't been introduced before now and it was only polite.

The dragon shifted, striding forwards but settling just off to the side of pinch - briefly shooting Brad a pointed look - before turning back to Rosemary "besides you never know when such knowledge might come in useful" there was many a time strange trivia had actually been what had made the difference oddly enough.

Or maybe his age made such things highly more likely to crop up, either way.
