AND I'M JUST A DEAD MAN WALKING TONIGHT
Bastille wasn't much of a greeter. He tended to show up on the border and get that initial take of a newcomer, sure, but he didn't always introduce himself or make much of a conversation until after someone had settled in and they just... happened upon one another. He didn't really... check in, per se. He gave people their space and would eventually get to know them better later. It was rare that he had a one-on-one encounter with someone, but this was sort of an accident.
Cooper's reminder of Starry had hurt, in an unexpected way, but he'd tried to push it away as quickly as possible. Now, he couldn't avoid the pull of the newcomer's voice from down the hall, and he headed idly in that direction without really thinking about it. There was light spilling out of the open doorway, and as he came to a stop in the flare of it, he studied Cooper briefly. And then studied his room, in a bored fashion, and squinted slightly. "What're you doing?" he asked, the first thing that came to mind, before he seemed to remember his manners and added, vague, "Uh, hi. Again."

Honey, you're familiar, like my mirror years ago, Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on his sword, Innocence died screaming; honey, ask me, I should know, I slithered here from Eden just to sit outside your door. [sup]▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃[/sup]
