Paper, upon receiving the invitation earlier that day, had gone scrounging through the chest in his room to see if it happened to have a mask within its contents. Vanessa and the other organizers may or may not have been providing masks for partygoers, but he wasn't about to take his chances; optional or not, he ought to at least try to take part in the theme, since this was a competitor he was talking about here. (And a tough competitor, at that. His game of Mafia would have to go off without a hitch to compete with the bombastic entertainment of a masquerade.)
Fortunately, there had been a mask of sorts in the chest, even if he had no clue what it was supposed to represent- it was gray and metallic-looking, with extensions seemingly intended to fit over the ears, and warped eyeholes with red film over them. Either way, it would work. Squinting in an effort to see more clearly, Paper entered the tavern, and immediately headed for the dance floor. This song was a tad slower than he was used to, but at least he was familiar with it, and could bounce along to the beat without it feeling unnatural.
/mask ref (minus the white stuff in the back) yes, I went there
