Paper had heard about Greed's task, having been there to receive his own task when Pincher announced it, and as such had been cautious whenever he noticed Greed's presence. It felt like one shoe had fallen, and he was just waiting for the other to drop, preferably not on his head. Maybe Greed was doing that on purpose, keeping everyone in suspense to make the payoff even sweeter when some unlucky sap finally got kicked.
Luckily, Paper had not apparently not been the target, as he happened to witness Greed trap the door after Pincher entered the room. While the captain had expressly told Greed to prank someone and thus would know exactly who the perpetrator was once he got soaked, Paper still figured it was a good idea to be hidden from view during the aftermath, especially if someone else accidentally triggered the trap first. Silently, he made his way over to the corner and stood behind Greed and Cronas, watching the door carefully.
