The creature had no interest in being at Viper Island. Actually, they had no interest in anything at all besides the commands given to them. When told to follow, they'd do so. When told to be someone else, they'd do so. When told to come to a deadly island and risk their life for the mere interest of another corvid, they'd do so. So, when Vale asked them to partner up and go, the stoic being went.
Their wings flapped casually from above as Vale spiraled down towards the obsidian surface. Xe was more daring than them already. Albino features snapped down to the other as they spoke. At 'feathered friend,' a few extra spots of feathers sprouted out from their skin and filled the young crow's body. Other than that, they had no acknowledgement to offer, but seemed up to the task. The unnamed descendant was a tool to be used and were not going to back down from a request, no matter how dangerous.
When Vale started to transform, the bird floated downwards. Black feathers taken by the wind trailed past them, but their attention remained entranced by the other's shapeshifting. Despite no thought behind their eyes, it was clear they were interested in what they were seeing and were intrigued into wanting more, whether that was another command or a lesson in using their skills.
Thankfully, their next command was given and they were clay made to be sculpted. Xyr question was no question, as was their next nickname.
Following the other's lead, their feathers melted away into the breeze. Their legs retreated up into their chest and their body flattened out horizontally with loud snaps. The light beak that once sat below their eyes softened and started to fill with scales, going from there to the tip of their new tail. With a yawn, fangs shot through the roof of their jaw and their pointed tongue split in two. The last thing to go was the wings that kept them afloat. Thus, they fell.
Unphased, they dropped onto the ground. Their newly slitted eyes looked over expectantly at Vale. To the rainforest!
