The grief of being the only one to survive, of being the only one left behind was a christening experience for any who were so unlucky as to deal with it. Ares' return home to the swamps had been a surprise but the Luminary had not turned her away before when she had lost herself, and he would not turn her away now either. The pain was one that he knew, and he had known it for too many lifetimes to judge another for the pain that they were going through.
Soft pawsteps approached Seven's home, tired eye falling upon the curled up form of his adopted daughter. It was true that months, perhaps a year had passed since she had lost herself and lashed out. So much time had passed since he had been injured trying to stop her from hurting others, and though his back still at times gave him issue, he had long ago forgiven her and healed. In that same accursed cheetah body, he now approached with a soft chuff of breath, "Ares?"
