History and Personality: Under his mother's loving care, the curious Manollo flourished and did his best to learn as much about the world as possible. Once Vinicius is exiled and presumed dead from his injuries, Manollo turns sullen and defiant, regularly fighting his father and king with biting words, no matter how much he was beaten in return. He never returned a hit, partly as a refusal to sink to his level, partly since he knew striking the king would be crossing a line; everything up until that point could be overlooked as a rebellious child angrily lashing out at a father, but a physical fight between them would force others to step in. Everything changed when the Mad Siren bit his child's powerful shark-like tail off, leaving Manollo to nearly die of blood loss and causing him to be crippled permanently. No longer able to swim half as well as before, Manollo burned with righteous rage, taking his sibling and fleeing the kingdom after scarring the King and blinding him with a powerful swing of his claws. Escaped and with his beloved mother once more, the newly named Kanoa struggles with his disability and trauma, doing his best to move on from his past.
