Everything in this world had been surprising up until now, and really, Maes doubted anything could shock him at this point. In his opinion, nothing could top humans that could change their appearance whenever they wanted and animals that could talk. But he was unaware of just how much there was left for him to discover. There were things out there that were even more abnormal than multi-colored large cats.
The canine had been out and about, taking a walk in an attempt to work out his tangled thoughts. Everything was so messed up and he wasn't sure what to do. At least his best friend was there to stand at his side. He had never thought he'd see him again, so it was surprising to be reunited with him. Coming back from the dead had been just as surprising for him as it had been for Roy. He had seen death as an end, but now it was almost more like a beginning.
He lifts his gaze, spotting the multiple people gathered up ahead. Curious, he decides to check out what they were looking at, his steps hesitant. He had grown a lot more cautious after dying. His once confident form was reduced to a lesser version of himself, one that was uncertain in a lot of things he did. As he grew closer, he paused abruptly at the scene, his heart jumping up into his throat.
Hughes had read many tales of vampires, watched many films on the beasts of legend that feasted on blood. But never did he ever think he'd encounter one. They weren't real, right? They were just paranormal beings that were made up to scare little kids. But now, as he looked upon Margaery drinking from Bastille's arm, he wasn't so sure.
