A sturdy, muscular frame with sleek, dilute fur (liver and brown) in traditional german shepherd markings. He is smaller than the American standard of the breed, being of European origin. His eyes are a startling ice blue, but settle nicely with his lighter-colored fur. He does have multiple scars, but for most of them, the fur has grown over them. There is very faint greying on his muzzle, but is not noticable to most unless you were standing quite close to him. He wears a green leather collar around his neck with the German iron cross attatched to it.

Deutschland is a quite complex character. His personality has been forged over years of tradegies, triumphs, and everything in between. The most distinguishable trait of his is in pride. He can be quite vain, but not exactly in terms of being called handsome. Deutschland loves to know he’s right, and loves to win. He can become quite arrogant and cocky when he knows he’s on the winning side, often talking down condesendingly on those he dislikes or is in a rivalry with. Deutschland’s quite set in his ways and doesn’t like to change his views on a whim. He’s not afraid to manipulate people or lie, though he usually prefers not to resort to that tactic as his first plan. He has an excellent way with words, and can put together a compelling speech. He’s morally grey, and doesn’t exactly show the same distaste as others in facing criminals. On the contrary, he finds immense interest in them and tries to understand their intentions and help them heal and offer them a second chance at life. However, once that second chance has been rejected, or misused, he immediately dislikes the character and becomes quite cold and merciless towards them. Underneath this spiky interior lies a rather soft heart. Deutschland’s weakness is family. He likes to push people away, but he realizes he’s gone too far when his family starts to drift away. After a long time of being a deadbeat father, he’s quite fond of his children and speaks to them softly and always likes to hang out with them. He’s especially fond of Feliciano, who is the only person he trusts with his life and is admittedly pliant to whatever Feliciano says or does to him. Deutschland is quite conservative in belief, not believing others when they claim they are fallen gods, demons, or angels, and he is pretty faithful to his mate and finds the idea of hookups and infedility appalling.

Hobbit is a short, stout little cat. He has long fur and large paws. His tail was originally long, but was hacked off by an opponent. He was warm, light brown/cinnamon fur, with a darker stripe of brown going down his back. His left paw is white up to his toes, and his right paw is white up to his ankle. His belly, chest, and throat are all white, as well as his chin. The tips of his ears are black. He has dark eyes.

PERSONALITY Curiously enough, Hobbitfoot's character closely resembled that of the fictional hobbit race that Tolkien invented. He is generally friendly and laid back. He does not enjoy his schedule being interrupted and does not have an affinity for battle, though he can be quite stubborn and courageous when he is defending something he loves.

HISTORY Hobbitfoot was born in a burrow beneath an English farm. His mother, Bella, was the farm's cat and was seduced by a traveling rogue male, who spent many delightful moons with her until she became pregnant. Hobbitfoot's father stuck around for her pregnancy, and was able to witness the birth of his kits. Hobbitfoot was the eldest and sole survivor of a litter of three male kits. The youngest brother was born dead and the other suffered from a weak respiratory system and died after seven weeks of life. His mother was obsessed with mythology and fantasy, as well as her mate's tales of the strange customs of clans that he had once lived in, where some cats would have a name comprised of two words. Being ignorant that those names had to have a -kit and -paw suffix previously, she dubbed the eldest as Hobbitfoot, for his small stature but large paws. She named the dead siblings Dragonbreath (respiratory failed kit) and Satyrstep (stillborn). The kits father left after their fourth week of life. Neither Dragonbreath nor Hobbitfoot could remember him, and his mother would never mention him.

After Dragonbreath's death, Bella became increasingly possessive over Hobbitfoot, hardly ever letting him leave the burrow, which he always dreamed of doing. While this was all happening, Bella's own health was rapidly deteriorating until one day, on Hobbitfoot's tenth month of life, he woke up to her dead. To this day, Hobbitfoot does not know what happened to her, but it is probably some sort of kidney or heart failure.

To keep his mind off of his families' tragedies, Hobbitfoot took up his mother's job of maintaining the farm and had a good life catching mice and socializing with passerbys and other farm cats. He was even a favorite with the farm household and they'd occasionally let him inside the house. The housefolk called him Winston.

HISTORY | SHOT DOWN, LAID IT ALL DEAD
      Machiavelli was born as a livestock guardian dog in the dead of the winter of 1520 somewhere in Ottoman Empire. The exact date and location is not known, as his fellow entities did not anticipate his creation and have no early records of him. Hamzah, a Turkish merchant, brings him as an adolescent puppy as a gift to a friend, a Venetian merchant named Giacomo Vitturi - who had expressed that he liked dogs, but when he sees the gigantic puppy, he weakly admits that he had been thinking of a lapdog. However, he keeps the dog and eventually the name "Machiavelli" stuck after Giacomo jokingly asked if the dog was meant to be a sort of military advisor to him because, unlike the warlike dog, Giacomo's talent lied in artistry and Venice was facing some difficulties with Charles V as the Holy Roman Emperor. Machiavelli's recently published work about military science "The Art of War" was the connection.
      From then on, Machiavelli was reincarnated in various forms into different times. He allies most strongly with the guardians who have good intentions and has gone on many missions to defend relics and people. More about his specific other lives and missions may come out later.
      In recent times, however, his fellow guardians had not stopped nursing their superstitions against him since he first came about. It is easy to get rid of him during a relatively peaceful period so after his last physical form dies, they devise a plan to banish him into a whole new universe. And then Machiavelli finds himself right here in the lands of Beyond.

CHARACTERISATION
I love some great deeds done by men, though I’ve long ceased perhaps to have faith in them, yet from old habit one’s heart prizes them.
i find that i can most accurately put together an actual personality section for my character's biography after i've spent time roleplaying with them. and even then, i still have trouble picking up adjectives to describe them. but i do think that there is a degree of personality that has always been a part of their nature, so i'll try to describe the base of ivan's character in that way. i'll also try to pinpoint the type of themes i'll explore with his character as well as his arc

- ethics: ivan is somewhat of a humanitarian, but no, not a social justice warrior. he can't really been seen as a progressive. he can't even fit into the archetype of a traditional hero character because he doesn't act upon it, rather he philosophizes about it and thinks there is something wrong with the order of the world. ivan is sympathetic to those who are suffering. he has a genuine concern for evil things in the world and he doesn't like it. he finds it unfair that some people suffer, and he does not regard one person's suffering as being more important than another's.
- despair/failure: as he grows older, ivan consistently falls into a despair. he begins to get snappish and acts aloof.

arc || ivan is less of an actor and more of a thinker. he has an acute intellectual side to him that can be seen in his early years. for the most part, he comes up with these things by himself. when he learns to read, he begins to incorporate these other ideas or completely dismiss them.
