Orpheus' gift to him had been rather nice. More than that, really. It had been thoughtful and it was clear Orpheus had taken some time to pick it out. Clarence had been intending to get gifts anyway, of course, but he hadn't quite gotten around to it, but now he felt like he really should for Orpheus. So, he tried to think of what the other man might like. He wasn't exactly sure what all of Orpheus' interests were, so he decided to put something together that had a bit of everything in it. First, he found a book of poetry. It had been one of the first books he'd found upon his arrival and he'd found it rather charming. It was far more contemporary than what he was used to and he knew some of it had gone over his head, but that didn't bother him at all and he was sure Orpheus would understand it better than he did anyway. "Gmorning, Gnight" it was called. It had nice little pictures that went with it as well, so he supposed it was practically perfect. Then he'd found some candy called "Skittles" which claimed they would make you "taste the rainbow." Clarence wasn't really sure what that meant, but it did sound quite exciting and he was sure any sort of candy would taste good. It was better than anything he would make, anyways.
With his two items, he put them in a nice little red bag with some tissue paper and wrote Orpheus' name as neatly as he could given the lack of thumbs. He then picked it up and headed into camp, looking for the lion. He felt his heart twist a bit as his eyes raked the camp. He wasn't sure why he was so nervous. It wasn't like this was important or even expected. He just hoped his new friend would like it and he hoped he wouldn't mind it being so late. Finally, he spotted the man. "Orpheus!" he called, moving quickly with the little bag before coming up to the lion and setting it down at his paws. "Thank you very much for the gift a few days ago, it was very appreciated. I just wanted to return the favor."
