The one was one they found perched upon their lips many times, seeking to be spoken, uttered on each exhale that escaped them and yet never was it permitted. No sound had escaped them within such structure, speech seemingly beyond their capabilities for the moment. To find it there, encased within the centre of their thoughts refusing to be moved until it had a chance to arise, was strange to them, out of place amongst the rest. Upon the man their attention was squarely focused when the two crossed paths, watching him though gaze flicked aside when they found themself met with the steely gaze, so familiar, gently tugging at thoughts locked away within the dark recesses of their mind.
Sil had seen the submarine, docked where all might access it if they so wanted yet something had stopped them, a sense of dread they thought mistaken fear curling around their heart, pushing them back though the want was there. Many times they found themself approaching, seeking to take the steps and be within the presence of the one they knew was within, locked away for a great deal of time. About them the morning rose, slow to do so as the darkness gave way to shades of orange and pink, a faint blush about the horizon as the sun made its appearance.
Sand changed, became metal, smooth and cold beneath their paws. The decent was slow, each step a struggle as they wondered upon turning back, leaving this place and the want behind for another day. There was no hope for such when finally they left the last step, the faint sound of their paw touching the ground echoing in the cavernous room. Moving about they learnt the layout rather easily, though twisting and turning upon itself, a confusing mess to those unfamiliar, it seemed not so for them. Something within their mind drew forth a ready made map, merely needing a few touches for things were missing or moved, tidied some.
The office was as they remembered if empty now. Within the very centre stood the desk, large to accommodate the one who sat behind it, the wood rich and warm in tone though the top was messy, if an organised mess, papers about speaking of a hurried departure. Quickly Sil slipped into the room, looking about. As with the rest it was metal though warmed by touches the Captain had put in place, the high backed chair calling to them but instead they slipped beneath it, curled in the space where it was tucked beneath the desk. Though it was small with it there the child found a small area they could easily wedge themself into, curling into themself.
For what seemed an eternity they waited there, breath shallow so as to not be heard though it deepened over time, eyelids growing heavy. They had missed a great deal of sleep, evident by the dark circles beneath darker eye, and easily did they slip into sleep. A surprise for both of them once Pincher returned, the faint sounds of sleep, whimpers and soft sighs as they settled further into their hiding spot, all that spoke of their presence.
