DELILAH EVERGARDEN

It had been extremely close to winter air, Delilah could feel the shifts at night, and it worried her. While she could gather a bunch of herbs herself, it was hard when her leg was acting up thanks to the nippy night air. It was dark out, the herbs would have froze to death if they couldn't adapt fast. She knew they wouldn't.

So, she had decided to hold a mass herb gathering. She'd make it into a contest, to make it more fun. "Tanglers! I am hosting a herb gathering event. I have a few herbs that you can sniff and take with you if need be, but I need to gather as much as I can of these herbs before the cold becomes too overbearing and kills the plants we need. If anyone would like to help, I have the herbs here."

She set her basket down, pulling out the familiar herbs from the territory to lay across the ground. Lots would need to be gathered.

"Room for the wounded?" Arrow muttered, limping over while scanning over Delilah. She didn't seem to be suffering from the alcohol ingested days earlier, which seemed obvious considering the time frame, but Delilah didn't drink and then got drunk. She was just worried about the girl, she'd found herself concerned often and feeling protective over the soft spoken medic. Why? She....she didn't know. "Anything in particular you need? I'm good at searching and finding things."

Ren didn't know jack shit about medicine. He was brought up to always be battle-ready, to kill or be killed and if you were wounded in battle then... You'd either live or die with your wounds. It was punishment for being so weak and unprepared for the worst. Many individuals lost their lives because others said they lacked "strength" and "will-power" to overcome injuries with little to no medical aid. At the time, Ren also thought that was the case and looked down on those individuals. He's survived many battles that could have ended his life and it shows with the abundance of scars littered on his body. He believed he had the "strength" and "will-power" to persevere with the little medicine knowledge his tribe possessed. It took him too long to realized him being alive and staying alive through such turmoil was sheer luck. Nothing more, nothing less. As much as he wanted to believe one could continue living on even with injuries without medical attention, it was too illogical to hold any real merit. It was important and a necessity to continue to live a long life, hence why he was there.

Blinking slowly, joined the others with a curious flick of his ear. Looking down at the herbs laid out, he noticed some smelled better than others. Some also had a stronger fragrance in comparison to a few who had a more muted aroma. How do the medics know which is which? Doesn't it fry their noses after a while? Questions, questions. Remaining quiet, he shifted his dark gaze from the many herbs to Delilah, followed by a nod of his head in a silent 'I'll help as well.'

DELILAH EVERGARDEN

Delilah was proud of the fact that Renegade was making an effort to try to get out and learn new things, or to even socialize, actually. When she first met him, he was pretty reluctant to talk to her until she started a conversation. Well, she couldn't blame him. He nearly ate her for lunch that day.

When Vigenere and Arrow walked over, Delilah smiled gently towards the two. While she looked tired, she had a certain happy atmosphere to her. "Renny, you can start by looking for Chervil. It's pretty easy to find, and has a very distinct smell. It's a short leafy herb with white flowers on it. Looks like this." She meowed, pushing the said herb towards the scarred lynx curiously. "You have good eyes, so it should be easy for you." She teased, poking fun at how they first met. If he even got the joke, that was.

Then, she turned to Vigenere, examining him for a moment. He was a bit impatient in some ways, she could probably get him to find something important but still easy.. Huh. Shuffling through her current herbs, she lifted up Meadowsweet, pushing the flowered plant over to the yellow feline. "Meadowsweet, sweet almond-scented, yellow-white or reddish flower heads. Got it? Take a scent, and take the stalk with you if you need to." She meowed, her fluffy tail making its way into her paws as she fumbled with it, soon dipping her head and turning it away.

Now, for Arrow, Delilah was eager to give her a easy one as well, but there were some others she needed more urgently. She picked up a spiky herb with rosy-purple flowers on it, scooting it over to her friend gently. "Blazing Star. This is extremely important for the winter, Arrow. It should be in few amounts nearby." She meowed, biting her lip nervously as she rubbed at her tail.

"Would anyone else like to help? We still have a few more.."

Her wing was still wrapped tight against her side, kept safe from damage and swathed in clean, stark white bandages. She'd been sure to change them regularly. It was a little hard to do on her own, struggling to bend her body the way it needed to bend to be able to keep the bandages around the damage, but she was managing. She'd much rather do the changes herself than have to ask the medics for help too often.

"I'll help out. I'm sure this won't be too strenuous." she said, offering the pink cat a slight smile, one that didn't quite reach her eyes. She was, admittedly, still worn out and recovering, but that didn't stop her from pushing herself to do things where she could. This definitely wouldn't be too much for her. It was actually quite perfect work for her while she was in this state.

Arrow looked down at the herb as it was pushed over, squinting at the flowers and remembering their color. Needed these for the winter, huh? Must've been important. [color=#208030]"Blazing Star." She looked like she was going to say something, and deep down she wanted to make a joke about 'Blazing Star' being the new self proclaimed nickname for her dick ( not that she had one to nickname at all ), but no such thing came about.

An inappropriate surge of bitterness took hold of her spine right then, a gross feeling of self deprecation practically hissing at her within the walls of her mind, despite her effort to chain it back up to the back. "This is all you can do?" Not that herb collecting wasn't an important business, clearly it was a needed profession to collect and use them all, especially with the rate of injury. But being reduced to picking up plants she'd never make use of, didn't even know half of them, with no other choice when it came time to be useful was an annoyance. Her ear twitched as she vaguely imagined her possible future, crippled from an injury that didn't heal and forced to play medical assistant and collect leafy shit for the rest of her natural life.

Arrow didn't seem to pay much attention to the others gathered around, focused independently on Delilah's instructions and the herb that needed to be stocked up on. [color=#208030]"Understood."

Delilah smiled happily when Vigenere and Arrow accepted her quest for the two, and she soon dipped her head to the two, shuffling through her pile herbs once more. Then, Ophelia came. "Ophelia! You're looking a lot better, love. A little tired, but that comes with recovering, I suppose." She meowed, her smile making her nose scrunch up. She had to be brave more often, she had to take charge of her anxiety, to move past it. Still, in the back of her head, she was aching to run. Aching to hide under Renegade's much larger form, to hide herself away from the world. This was too much socializing.

She shook herself from her thoughts, glancing down at her pile to look for something simple. Easy to reach, easy to find, but still complicated in a way. "Zhi Mu, a tall grass with fragrant yellow-white or light purple flowers. Like.. Like this." She stuttered, pushing said herb towards the femme for her to smell and take with her. "This is easy to find, but only in small amounts because of how hard it is to grow. We're harvesting it at the right time of the year." She informed the girl, telekinesis handing the girl a small roll of bandages as well. "For your wing, I don't know if you ran out of bandages or not.." She said sheepishly, before she began gathering her herbs back up into her basket. She could give more if someone else came up, but she was sure this was it for now.

//You can either make a separate thread and tag Delilah in it, where y/c or y/c and another chara finds their herbs together. I don't mind. ^^ It's like Delilah's monthly herb tasks.

She took a moment before catching onto the fact that Vigenere was talking to her, which promptly caused her to jump, snapping out of focus. [color=#208030]"Yes." Was Arrow's only response to the demon, giving a slight nod and sending Delilah one more look to make sure she didn't mind. She didn't seem to care either way. [color=#208030]"Let's go. Need to find plants."
