CANDICE
To make a long story short: Caroline Mikaelson was a bad mother and a bad wife.
The latter, she excused. Nik was temperamental, conceited, paranoid, and manipulative. He only showed her love when it convienenced him and never did he think to consult her before pulling some idiotic stunt or murdering someone who could be valuable to them. She had given up everything for him time and time again and yet, nothing ever seemed to change. She was tired of the cycle, of the lies, of the false promises, she wanted to start anew just as she had done so many times in the past. He could hate her, hell, he could even hunt her, but she wouldn't care. He lacked the simple ability to kill her and that was all that Caroline needed.
It was the former that concerned her. She had had many children in her long life- one with Nik, and the majority with other brief flames who had captured her affections and attention. What had become of her children, she could not say. Only one seemed to remain and their relationship was a thousand years old and possibly tattered beyond repair. The last time they had met, her daughter had made quick work of killing the body Caroline had resided in and then stealing her ring. She didn't fault her... not really... but it did annoy the pretty Siberian cat greatly.
No matter, maybe she'd wrap up those loose ends, maybe she wouldn't. Caroline was admittedly more intrigued in starting anew then interacting with any facet of her past. She didn't know how long she would have here before Nik attempted to retrieve her, but she did hope that she'd have the opportunity to live a little bit. The gods above knew how long it had been since she had thrown a party, socialized, flirted. Caroline needed it.
"Hey, hello!" She called out loudly, a bright blue gaze traversing the stretch of land at her paws. A railroad gate? Cool, she guessed. "My name is Candice and I'm looking to join!" The words dripped off her tongue easily; this was far from her first rodeo. As for her name... well, word travelled much slower when you were using an alias. Nik wouldn't be able to find her for a while if she played her cards right- and that's what Caroline intended to do.
It was all part of her intricate plan.
And everyone who knew Caroline knew that she loved her plans.
